Few people would deny that Luann de Lesseps’ life has been eventful over the last few years. Since the end of 2016, she has married and divorced, been arrested, was placed on probation, violated her probation, attended two rehabs and was sued by her children. And during all of that drama, the Real Housewives of New York star still managed to find time to start a cabaret career. I get tired just thinking about it!
Self-centered Luann has always been an interesting Housewife, but in the last few years she has delivered storylines like few other ladies. And ones that are actually real–for better or worse! So, what is left for Luann to accomplish? Well, if you are the former Countess, the next logical step would be to write a book about your fabulous, but complicated life.
Luann recently told Page Six that she is writing a book, revealing, “I’ve been keeping a diary of everything that has happened to me. I’ve been sober for eight months, and the therapists urge you to be honest about yourself. But many of the things that have been written about me have been false, so this book is my chance to lay myself bare and also set the record straight.”
Just how honest will Luann be in her book? As her self-awareness is minimal, it is difficult to know how forthcoming she will be. Will her “setting the record straight” also involve her co-stars? Bethenny Frankel has screamed at Luann for being selfish. Sonja Morgan has claimed she treats her co-stars like fans. And Dorinda Medley has talked about how rude Luann is. Will Luann use her book writing as an opportunity to get back at the other ladies?

Many Housewives have written books before, of course. Including Luann herself, who wrote Class With The Countess: How To Live With Elegance and Flair, back in 2009. A book telling us all how to live the Countess way! Currently available on Amazon for 25 cents and up. However, I have to admit, Luann’s proposed book is one I would probably buy–especially if she is at least a little bit honest about her recent misadventures.
Luann does not currently have a publisher, according to Page Six, “but is considering offers.” Which could mean that Luann is actually considering offers–or that she will be taking her diaries to the nearest vanity publisher. However, I would bet that Luann will have real offers to choose from as her recent life has been a bit sordid. OK–a lot sordid! Which always sells.

Will Luann actually be writing the book on her own? Or will she look for a ghost writer? If Luann goes that route, maybe she could look up writer girl Carole Radziwill. I am sure Carole would love to put her own spin on Luann’s life!
A book by Luann would be a natural accompaniment to her singing career. Cabaret venue lobbies are perfect for selling books to all of her loyal fans. Autographed copies will be extra, of course!
