Can Shep Rose deny hitting on any female? Not according to his great friends! The Southern Charm lothario is certainly known for his way with the ladies. Shep has been through his fair share of flings with his co-stars. Danni Baird went out with Shep for a few minutes. Until she discovered his lack of commitmentshep. Kathryn Dennis has also fallen under the influence of Shep’s alcohol animal magnetism. He even tried it with Chel(t)sea Meissner, but she managed to dodge his allure in favor of… Austen Kroll.
Speaking of Austen, his new relationship is providing quite a bit of drama for viewers this season. Hairstylist extraordinaire, Madison LeCroy, has shown up and she is no punk. She owns a business, styles Patricia Altschul’s wig, and isn’t afraid of confrontation. Shep is not a fan of Madison’s. He seems to have an unreasonable dislike towards Austen’s main squeeze. So what happened to create such tension between Madison and Shep? Did she refuse his slurred words of poetry? Was she resistant to his beer-soaked t-shirt collection? Maybe she was just smart.
Why is Shep so butthurt about Madison? She must have hurt his wittle fweelings. That seems to be the main theory surrounding Shep’s intense dislike towards his “best friend’s” girlfriend. Shep has not been quiet about his contempt for Austen’s relationship and has said some pretty unkind words about Madison. After Austen’s mangled attempt at a threesome that was splashed all over social media, Mads had a revenge hook-up. To Shep, that was the ultimate betrayal. Not entertaining two randos at your apartment, mind you. That was merely a misstep on Austen’s part.
During a ladies only dinner at Ms. Pat’s, Madison commented that perhaps Shep’s attitude is because she rejected him when she was married. “I don’t know if he’s still bitter from me declining him when I was married and I wasn’t interested,” Madison said.
Shep is quick to deny this, however. During the Southern Charm After Show, Shep said, “Definitely not.” He went on to say, “She came out to our beach house and I mean, cute blonde, I was like, what’s up, baby. I never had her number once, never texted her once. I mean, I like whispered some s–t in her ear, big deal.”

Since he’s already under the bus, Shep decides to pull Craig Conover down there with him. “He [Craig] went down and walked on the beach with her [Madison] and disappeared for an hour.”
Then, Craig explained that he did “take a walk” with Madison and they discussed her then-state of unhappiness. Uh-huh. Sure, Jan. Craig took a “walk on the beach” with Kathryn too. When they got lost on Jekyll Island. Our Craig sure loves late-night walks by the ocean.
Cameran Eubanks shared, “Shep would hit on anything upright.” Danni echoed that sentiment saying, Shep “hits on everybody” and he would even “hit on a raccoon”. How unfortunate for those ladies who enjoy a smoky eye. These are not exactly outstanding statements regarding Shep’s character.

That said, even Danni and Kathryn question why he hates Madison with such a passion. Danni admits that Shep rarely has animosity towards those who do not succumb to his advances.
Clearly, Madison has been around this crowd for a while. She probably knows where some bodies are buried. Fans of the show continue to wonder why Shep is going out of his way to malign her in every way possible. Maybe Shep and Mads are both hiding something. Maybe this is just another chip on Shep’s shoulder in his never-ending competition with Austen. Either way, it doesn’t look like Shep and Madison will be bosom buddies any time soon.
