Gina Kirschenheiter joined the Real Housewives of Orange County in Season 13, and viewers were aware from the jump that there were problems in Gina’s marriage. Her husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, traveled non-stop. And he is also allergic to television cameras. In April of 2018, when Gina filed for divorce and got her own casita, it was hardly a shock.
No one thought much of it when Gina received a traffic violation for not stopping at a stop sign in January of 2018. But then, Gina was arrested for a DUI on February 1, 2019. Gina seemed to take responsibility for her actions. She followed that up on February 6 by getting pulled over by the police once again. This time, the mom of three was using her cell phone while driving. That is not cool, Gina. Safety first!
US Weekly is reporting that Gina has taken a plea that will keep her out of jail.. The RHOC Housewife pled guilty to one misdemeanor count of driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08 percent or higher. She also pled guilty to a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of alcohol. So, what was Gina’s sentence? She was given three years of informal probation, 20 hours of community service, and six months participation in an offender alcohol program.
Unfortunately, Gina has even bigger issues to worry about. It looked like she and Matt were headed for a reconciliation, then a horrifying incident changed everything.
According to legal paperwork obtained by The Blast, after Gina returned from a night out in late June, Matt began to “pound on the door” at 2 am. Matt let himself into the home, and when she came downstairs, Gina said, he “threw me down on the couch and threw some furniture around” and claimed he was “screaming in my face and saying he was going to kill me.” The violent attack continued, with Gina stating, “He started to hit me on the side of the head with his open hand. When I tried to get up off of the couch, he threw me back down and began choking me. Then he started to hit me all over my body.”

Gina ran to a neighbor’s house to get help, but Matt followed and “grabbed me and dragged me on the cement back into the house. He threw me back on the couch started hitting me again telling me he was going to kill me,” she said. “His eyes were black and nothing I could say would bring him back to reality.” Gina pleaded with her husband to calm down because their children were in the house.
Sadly, Gina is alleging that this was not the first time that there was a violent occurrence in their marriage. “There are other incidents that have scared me in the past. Too many to remember. At this point, I have to protect me and our children,” Gina said in the legal documents.
Matt was taken into custody and then booked into an Orange County, California jail, and he was released the next morning.

Gina was granted a restraining order against Matt. Gina’s estranged husband was ordered to stay 100 yards away from her and their three children until an upcoming hearing. Now some of those terms seem to have changed.
The Blast reported that Gina has worked out a temporary custody deal with Matt. Is that a good thing? Anyway, Matt will get several days with their kids this month, but the visits will be supervised by either his mother, Patricia Kirschenheiter, or the children’s paternal uncle or aunt. The other terms of the restraining order are still in effect, so Matt must still stay away from his estranged wife. Gina has agreed to possibly increase the number of days that Matt can see their kids in the future.

Gina is returning as a full-time Housewife for Season 14, so viewers will most likely see some of the fall-out from her marital drama this season. I wish that Gina wasn’t the alleged victim in a domestic violence situation. I don’t think that any viewers want to see that type of trauma…ever.
TELL US- ARE YOU SURPRISED THAT GINA IS LETTING MATT SEE THE KIDS? WILL VIEWERS SEE A LOT ABOUT THIS SITUATION ON SEASON 14?
