This incident gets my vote for one of the strangest things to happen in celebrity news in 2019 this far. Along with Kanye West starting a church and basically everything Lindsay Lohan posts on Instagram.
Just so y’all don’t waste a bunch of time Googling “Lil’ Kim” like I just did, let me fill you in on the basics. Lil’ Kim is a rapper, model, and actress. She also appeared on Dancing With the Stars in 2009. Apparently, she enjoyed her reality television stint because she is currently making the rounds to promote a reality TV show that she produced and stars in. The show is called Girls Cruise and it airs on VH1. Girls Cruise will feature Lil’ Kim and several of her besties traveling together on a cruise. I will watch a LOT of terrible TV, but this one is a gets a hard pass from me.
According to USA Today, Lil’ Kim recently posted, then deleted, an Instagram rant, canceling a scheduled appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. She was supposed to go on WWHL to promote Girls Cruise.
Lil’ Kim did not specify what Andy did to piss her off, but she did say “I’ve been trying my best to do whatever it takes to make my fans happy. … If y’all don’t see me doing press it’s cause I’m fighting. … These [expletive] trying to use me for my iconic status [to get] a moment …” LOL WHAT?

Andy has his own wildly popular televised talk and radio shows and a string of executive producing credits to his name. Not to mention his countless appearances and celebrity BFFs (I’m looking at YOU Sarah Jessica Parker). I’m preeety sure Andy doesn’t need “Lil’ Kim, celebrity guest” to give him his moment.
PLUS, who refers to their own self as an icon?
USA Today also reported that Lil’ Kim said that she refuses to keep doing interviews if “[expletive] are not going to respect who I am, what I’ve done, where I’m at now.” Sounds Lil’ Kim was upset because Andy was planning to ask her about something in her past that she didn’t want to discuss? Like maybe the last time she was on WWHL and called Nicki Minaj a “stupid ho?”

I guess the reasoning behind Lil’ Kim’s refusal to appear on WWHL will remain a mystery.
