Apollo who? Phaedra Parks has found love again and no, it’s not with the infamous Mr. Chocolate. Or the radio DJ she recently dated.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum recently spilled the tea on how she finally moved on from her felonious ex-husband Apollo Nida.
“I didn’t date for four years and so I put my foot into the man pond I guess about night months to a year ago,” Phaedra told Daily Mail. “I dated a guy and that didn’t quite work out and so I found another guy that’s more suitable for me, and I’m quite excited and happy about him.”
While Phae Phae stayed mum on the identity of her mystery man, Daily Mail reports her new love is actually 35-year-old actor Medina Islam. The TV star, who was featured on OWN’s The Haves and The Have-Nots from 2014 to 2016, is 10 years Phaedra’s junior. Previously, she was linked to radio personality Tone Kapone.
The former RHOA star also revealed that she met her latest beau on the celebrity dating site Raya and couldn’t be more thrilled to list off his positive characteristics.

“He’s very smart, very intelligent,” Phaedra said. She added, “He’s kind, we are both socially active. He’s really sober and smart. He’s a great father. So I’m excited about it.”
When it came to the father of her children, however, Phaedra was less enthused. (She split from Apollo in 2017 after nearly five years of marriage and a three-year legal separation.) Sentenced to eight years in prison for fraud and identity theft in 2014, the former Househusband served five years before being released in June. However, just days after his initial, Apollo was re-arrested for violating a technical requirement of his parole.
According to Phaedra, the news of her ex-husband’s return to jail was particularly hard on the couple’s young sons, Dylan and Ayden.

“[M]y youngest son was like, ‘So Daddy will be here for Father’s Day?'” Phaedra revealed in the interview. “And I had explained to him, no. He couldn’t come anyway because he was in the halfway house transition home. But you kn0w, they can’t talk to him at all now because he’s back in prison.
“I was disappointed,” she continued, “but at the same time, I don’t know if I was that shocked because he is a risk taker and I just hate it because now it’s just above all of us. Only Jesus can fix it. I can’t make him be what he doesn’t want to be. He has to want to change.”
Fix it, Jesus, indeed.
