It’s tough to be the new girl on a Real Housewives show. All of the older more seasoned cast members are scared of losing the spotlight, and ultimately, their full-time status on the show. Braunwyn Windham-Burke will make her Real Housewives of Orange County debut on tonight’s Season 14 premiere.
Notably, the OG of the OC, Vicki Gunvalson, has been demoted to part-time status. So, those are some obnoxious big shoes for Braunwyn to fill. Does she have what it takes to last on RHOC? Or will she be a “one and done” like Peggy Sulahian or Peggy Tanous? Well, at least her name isn’t Peggy, so she doesn’t have to deal with that one-season curse. Then again, Gina Kirschenheiter and Emily Simpson each got a second season after contributing zero during their rookie years. RHOC is struggling to say the least. Does Braunwyn have what it takes to resuscitate the original Real Housewives show!? Let’s hope so. There’s a lot riding on this, Braunwyn.
In a recent interview with People, Braunwyn admitted that she was a fan of the show before she joined the cast herself. She also shared her first impressions of the cast member. She revealed, “From being a fan to being on the show, the perception that was most different was Shannon [Beador]. I thought she was going to be a little bit more cold when the truth is she’s probably the warmest, most gracious person I’ve ever met.”
That is so surprising since Shannon has never been nice to a new Housewife. Last season we were all hoping for newly single Shannon to make a comeback. Instead, she frustrated us the whole time. Maybe, just maybe, there’s a new Shannon that we can all root for on Season 14.
