Last night’s episode of 90 Day Fiance Before The 90 Days was filled with first impressions and scams galore. One of the most interesting parts of the episode was when we finally get to meet the last couple of the season. Let me just tell you, all signs point to disaster. Why does it seem like most of the people who sign up for the K1 visa process are broke?
Did they not read the details in fine print that say they are financially on the hook for the person for YEARS? This 90 Day Fiance Before The 90 Days episode is filled with all types of hypocrisy. Let’s get messy and break down this episode!
Avery, 19 (Ohio) and Omar, 24 (Syria)
Avery is in near hysterics because she still can’t find her cell phone. Her mother is insisting she won’t get on the plane if she doesn’t find it. I thought her mother was finally putting her foot down. Yeah, not so much. Avery quickly dismisses her mother’s concerns and they both get on the plane.
Meanwhile, twenty four hours earlier, Omar worries that her past may become a problem in the future. Even if we forget the countless cultural differences, you can’t ignore they have polar opposite experiences when it comes to relationships. I am not sure if blind love is enough to overcome all of the obstacles they will face.
Avery and her mother finally arrive in Lebanon. Omar is excited to finally get to see his fiancé in person for the first time. Although the airline lost their bags, Avery is all smiles in anticipation to finally meet her man. With flowers in hand, Omar warmly greets the two of them.
I have a feeling this is the calm, before the storm. Avery’s mom clearly hasn’t done any research on what is culturally appropriate. She talks about going to bars and drinking while they are in the taxi. Avery looks completely embarrassed, but maybe it’s better that Omar knows what he is signing up for before entering into marriage.
Omar helps Avery and her mother settle into their hotel room. They will have to maintain separate rooms until they are married. Avery still hasn’t revealed her plans to move to Syria to her mother. She intends to apply for a visa for Omar to come to the US, but she wants to live with Omar until he gets approved. Girl, good luck with that!
DARCEY, 44 (CONNECTICUT) AND TOM, 39 (UNITED KINGDOM)
Tom Brooks meets with his sister to discuss the possibilities of a relationship with Darcey Silva. It seems that Darcey is way further along in the relationship in her head than in reality. She has finally arrived in England to meet her man. Making good on his promise, Tom has a taxi driver come to collect Darcey from the airport.
She proceeds to take a hoe bath in the bathroom sink. 45 minutes later, she emerges looking like a new Bratz doll. Girllll… he couldn’t allow you time to change at his home or the hotel? Chile, please! This is the type of man, you want in your life? He can’t bother to see you until you have brushed your teeth and reduced you to getting naked in a public restroom. Darcey, you are way too old to be this desperate. There is nothing cute about these antics. It’s actually quite sad and pathetic.
Freshly cleaned up with bathroom soap and paper towels, Darcey arrives to meet Tom at a restaurant. Hopefully, he likes the Pretty Woman part two look Darcey is rocking. I have no idea why she put all of that effort into meeting him. Tom actually looks vastly different from his pictures. Ugh…. Even Darcey acknowledges Tom catfished her when he walked away.
He definitely is a far cry from a 24-year-old Jesse Meester. Even he senses that Darcey isn’t completely attracted to him. This man has a lot of nerve to be jerk. The meeting is cringe-worthy, to say the least. Darcey is definitely forcing it. Despite her initial disappointment, she is so thirsty to say she has a man that she continues with this sham.
Darcey is shocked to learn that they will not be staying together during her trip. Tom claims booked her an Airbnb in order to be respectful. I highly doubt that is the reason. But this small act has Darcey going into insecure mode instantly.
ANGELA, 53 (HAZLEHURST, GA) AND MICHAEL, 29 (NIGERIA)
Angela Deem sees her lawyer to inquire on the progress of her K1 Visa request for Michael Ilesanmi. She finds out that there is a huge financial and personal obligation that comes along with the process. Given the plethora of problems both of these two have, I don’t know if it’s worth it. Let’s be real, Angela is broke and more than likely can’t have a baby without help. This story line is laughable.
Angela is furious that Michael dared to go out and celebrate his birthday without her. Angela claims Michael agreed to wait for her to celebrate when she arrives weeks later. To add insult to injury, Michael ignored her calls for six hours while he was out. While venting to a friend, Angela is insistent that it’s not about him going out; it’s that he lies constantly. Somehow I doubt, it’s just about a lie.
She even asks if she looks like a thirsty B%^*# that needs a man. Umm… yea! Sorry, Angela, no one is surprised you are working double shifts to keep a man. I am more surprised that you got one.
Angela video calls Michael to scream about him celebrating his birthday on the actual day he was born. She then brings up everything but the kitchen sink while Michael looks like a scolded child. No visa is worth listening to Angela scream and curse all day, every day. She literally holds the visa over his head every time he does anything she doesn’t like.
Michael, you may want to truly consider exactly how much you are willing to endure to come to America. This woman is going to make you work off every cent she spent on you in the bedroom. Ewww…
REBECCA, 47 (GEORGIA) AND ZIED, 26 (TUNISIA)
Rebecca is surprised to find out that she not only has to rent a car, but that she will also be the sole driver for the next three weeks. Even more shockingly, when they arrive at the hotel, they see a security officer making sure there are no bombs on the premises. Not to be deterred by the threat of a bombing, Rebecca giddily shows Zied the lingerie she purchased.
Zied is nervous because in his words, “she is twenty years older and a grandmother.” Since neither one of them were taken aback by seeing each other in person, maybe the dark and sheer determination, will defy the odds again.
It’s the morning after and Rebecca and Zied share weird chatter and kisses. Later, Rebecca decides to finally get down to business and ask the tough questions, despite hiding secrets of her own.
Zied admits that he is quite jealous, which was an issue Rebecca’s CURRENT husband has well. Well, Rebecca, you can’t say you weren’t warned. He quickly shuts down the conversation when she tried to discuss her “ex”. Zied makes it clear he doesn’t want to hear about another man and their past relationship.
BENJAMIN, 33 (PHOENIX, AZ) and AKINYI, 25 (KENYA)
We finally get to meet the last 90 Day Fiance Before The 90 Days couple we have all been all awaiting to see. Benjamin is a divorced father with a 5-year-old child. He wasn’t having much luck with meeting women from his hometown, so he broadened his search and found Akinyi. He has planned his first ever international trip to meet her in Kenya. He intends to ask her parents for her hand in marriage. Benjamin is the first boyfriend Akinyi has ever introduced her family, and the first white man.
Benjamin considers himself, “pretty fly for a white guy.” Ummm… yea, I don’t know who told him that lie. The only true part of his statement is he is a white and a guy. Akinyi reveals that her family will expect a bride price for her hand in marriage. The only problem is Benjamin is basically living check to check surviving off hot pockets and Doritos. He won’t even know the price until he arrives, so he has no idea how he will be able to afford it.
Benjamin goes to the bank to check his balance before he goes to Kenya. He will only have $1,000 for the entire trip. Good luck with that bride price… His friend Desiree drops by to watch him pack and discuss his relationship with Akinyi. Desiree worries that he is choosing to marry a woman who may not be ready to be a stepmother to his son. I am still floored how some of these people want to be with someone so badly that their children appear to be an afterthought.
CAESAR, 46 (NORTH CAROLINA) AND MARIA, 28 (UKRAINE)
Caesar invites a friend to help him pack and prepare for his trip to Mexico with Maria. He reveals that she still hasn’t booked her flight, despite the two thousand dollars she received weeks ago. Always the optimist, he shows off the engagement ring he just bought. I laughed when he tried to pass off that cubic zirconia as real diamonds. In this case, I am actually glad he only spent $200 on the ring for this fake relationship.
Caesar makes another attempt to contact Maria to find out if she has bought her plane ticket. She comes up with every reason to get more money. Umm… if I gave you $2,000 for a flight and you never booked it, the ATM would be closed. This is an absolute joke. Much to no one’s surprise, she never booked the flight, even though they are supposed to be leaving the next day.
After talking to a customer, he decides to waste more money and book the flight for her just to get her there. He allows her to keep the money he already sent to get ready for the trip. This man is nuts! Here is where I would fast forward through their story if it was possible. I am starting to doubt these two will ever even meet. But if they do, that will be a 90 Day Fiance Before The 90 Days episode I will not miss!
TELL US- WHAT DID YOU THINK ABOUT DARCEY MEETING TOM? IS ANGELA CRAZY FOR EXPECTING MICHAEL TO STAY HOME ON HIS BIRTHDAY? WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THE NEW CAST MEMBER ON 90 DAY FIANCE BEFORE THE 90 DAYS, BENJAMIN? DO YOU THINK MARIA WILL SHOW UP IN MEXICO TO MEET CAESAR?
