During last season of Real Housewives of New York, Dorinda Medley made some big changes. At the reunion, she finally mended her relationship with cabaret star Luann de Lesseps. However, Dorinda wasn’t as kind to RHONY newbie Barbara Kavovit. She compared Barbara to a turnip sitting in a fruit basket. Wow.
Dorinda also moved to a new three-bedroom apartment in Manhattan. And while long-time boyfriend John Mahdessian would love to move in, Dorinda isn’t exactly putting out a welcome mat.
Not only is Dorinda thrilled about living alone, but she also has decided that she isn’t interested in tying the knot again. In an RHONY confessional, Dorinda stated, “Past a certain age, people should not be allowed to be married. It’s for the young! They have tolerance, they have dreams, they want babies. You get to my age and it’s just the opposite. I don’t even want a plant in my house!” I guess John shouldn’t plan on moving his newly dry-cleaned clothes into Dorinda’s new pad.
In an interview with Page Six at a “fashion parade” show held at Christie’s, Dorinda shared some surprising information. Dorinda may have let it all grow out hang out while she enjoyed her summer, but she is now back and on point.

“Today is my first day of entering back into the real world,” Dorinda stated. “I had social anxiety about getting dressed up tonight … I don’t think I shaved until yesterday.”
She added, “I just got back from the Berkshires. My legs are the first thing I shave — I let it all hang out at the Berkshires.” Ummm…thanks for sharing? However, Dorinda does have some rules when it comes to shaving. “One of my worst nightmares is to be photographed with a hairy leg or armpit. Personal grooming is very important. It is very millennial now to let it all hang out, but I disagree,” she explained.

So, does Dorinda pretend that she is a millennial in the Berkshires? Is she living alone in her house all summer so no one will glimpse any leg hair? And just where does Dorinda’s boyfriend John’s preferences figure in this confession? (Spoiler alert: I am sure that they don’t.)
“That’s just not my style. I think if you grew up like I did in the ’60s, it’s just what you started learning at 14. I’m too old to change at this point,” Dorinda concluded.
