Kelly Dodd and Vicki Gunvalson used to be friends. At least, friends of the Housewife variety. The Real Housewives of Orange County stars were at odds last season over Vicki introducing her ex Michael Dodd to a new woman after their split. Even worse, they had an ugly dispute at the Season 13 reunion when Vicki insinuated that Kelly was a cocaine user. Funny how that could make someone angry!
Since then, the two have been feuding, often trading barbs on social media. During the cast trip to Arizona, Vicki repeated a story she had allegedly heard about Kelly being banned from her daughter’s school. Kelly, of course, called Vicki out for spreading ugly rumors. Astonishingly, the two apologized to each other at dinner on the final night of the trip. Were the two really ready to repair their broken friendship? Two other RHOC stars think something was amiss with the apology-fest at the Miraval retreat.
Shannon Beador and Braunwyn Windham-Burke shared their thoughts about the apology on the Real Housewives of Orange County Aftershow. Shannon inquired of Braunwyn, “I’m going to ask you a question. So you were there at that dinner. How genuine did you think all that was? Did you really think that we were walking away and everything was going to be kind of OK? I didn’t.”
Agreeing with Shannon, Braunwyn declared, “Can I be completely honest right now? So, I left the table with Kelly, the second she was done with that, [she] was not having it.” Apparently, the apology had an end-of-dinner expiration limit!
Would anyone really think that Kelly would just forgive Vicki and move on? Kelly has also slung some dirty mud at Vicki, but Vicki’s hits on Kelly have been potentially more damaging on a personal level. It is hard to imagine Kelly could move on so quickly, especially when Vicki had been spreading more gossip about her earlier that day.

Shannon, for her part, questioned why Kelly would bother to apologize to Vicki if she didn’t mean it. She asked, “You know what? But then my issue is, then what are you doing?”
Replying to Shannon, Braunwyn said, “That whole thing was…” Shannon then jumped in, exclaiming, “Phony.”
Braunwyn agreed, “Yeah.” Shannon went on to claim, “Not on Vicki’s side though. It wasn’t phony on her side”

Does Shannon really believe that? Does Vicki ever genuinely apologize? The only person she seems to have issued semi-genuine apologies to over the years are to Tamra Judge and maybe to Shannon. Vicki is not someone who is known for her introspection or ability to admit fault. See several seasons of her backing up ex-boyfriend Brooks Ayers for reference. Contact daughter Briana Culberson for additional details!
Why would Kelly apologize to Vicki and also accept her apology? With Kelly, it can be difficult to determine her motivations, but maybe she was just tired of Vicki’s allegations and wanted to prevent future ones by calling a truce.
Vicki was also involved in the sex train rumors floating around about Kelly this season. Maybe the apology-fest was damage control. Even someone like Kelly can get tired of a crazy merry-go-round of accusations.

What will happen in the future between Kelly and Vicki? We will see as the season plays out, but it is hard to imagine they will have a friendship again where Kelly’s daughter spends quality time with her cherished “Aunt Vicki.” At this point, Vicki probably shouldn’t send Kelly a copy of her bridal registry for her upcoming nuptials to Steve Lodge!
