Say it isn’t so! The queen of resting bitch face. The maker of penis rocket ship blankets. The master of the scathing one-liners. Below Deck’s Kate Chastain is leaving the sea for good after six seasons.
Damn those four bru’s for being the straw that broke the camels back. After this season it shouldn’t be a surprise Kate is bolting. It’s making me want to run far away too.
This season was painful to watch. The animosity and toxic situations that permeated among the crew members shifted the show from entertaining to disturbing. We were no longer enjoying the antics of the crew trying to satiate the needs of over-indulgent, rich, obnoxious guests.
We were watching a battle of men boys vs. women. On their own Ashton Pienaar, Tanner Sterback, Brian de Saint Pern and Kevin Dobson may not have been so bad. But put them all together and we saw the monster that created. I think they made every single female cry this season. Way to go gentlemen.

So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise Kate is bailing on the show. In a post on her Instagram account, Kate announced her decision to leave in an interesting way. By mimicking the announcement the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made during their exit from the royal family.
“After many months of reflection and internal discussions, I have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new land base role,” Kate wrote. “I intend to step back as a senior member of Below Deck Family and work to become financially independent while continuing to fully support His Majesty Andy Cohen.” Is there some snark there?

I imagine there are a handful of people who will not be sad to see her go. And hopefully ,those people will no longer be gracing us with their presence next season. But I think many more will miss the saltiness Kate brought to the show. Whomever is hired to replace her will have some large shoes to fill.
