I don’t know about you, but I really struggled to get through the Below Deck Season 7 reunion episodes. The misogyny and hypocrisy were just so frustrating to watch. As much as I love Below Deck, I am happy the season is over.
It got on my nerves up until its very last moment: Andy Cohen having the nerve to ask Courtney Skippon if she planned on hooking up with Brian de Saint Pern after the reunion taping. This was after she said he sent her aggressive texts and had to block him. Courtney also explicitly stated that she wants to be with someone who respects her. Courtney was very clear the whole reunion about how she felt about Brian. Why on earth did Andy think that was appropriate to ask? Especially given the unwanted sexual advances that dominated storylines this season. Tone-deaf much?
During an episode of his Andy Cohen Live radio show, Andy took a verbal beating from callers who lectured him about mucking up the Below Deck reunion with his line of questioning and defense of male crew members.
One caller asked about the hookup question and Andy attempted to explain where he was coming from. Andy began, “Listen. Here’s the deal with that question. Do I think that I shouldn’t have asked it? Of course. I made a joke to her at the end, where I said ‘Are you and Brian gonna hang out tonight?’ Or something like that.”

Andy continued, “The context of that is we have had Southern Charm reunions [and] we have had Below Deck reunions where people hated each other. [They said] horrible things and then they all go out that night. Then, they get drunk and I come into work the next day and they’re like ‘Guess who hooked up last night’ I’m like, ‘You’re kidding me! You’re kidding me! Like how is that possible?'” Of course, he’s talking about Thomas Ravenel and Kathryn Dennis who conceived their son following a reunion taping. How romantic!
Andy repeated, “So, that’s why I ask that question. Do I wish that I not have asked it? Of course. I understand how it came off.” And in the end, he emphasized, “Yes, I got it.” But, does he really get it though?
