Lifetime Announces ‘Married At First’ Sight Self-Shot Spin-Off Show Called ‘Married At First Sight: Couples’ Cam’

Lifetime’s Married at First Sight has a new spin-off show on the way called Married at First Sight: Couples’ Cam. The couples will film the series themselves.

This might be in response to the current quarantine situation. Or maybe this was the plan all along and eliminating the camera crew as just a smart move for the budget. Either way, a press release from the network promises: “highs, lows, humor, drama and domestic life.” Here’s my question though, if they’re filming this show themselves, will we actually get to see the drama? Couldn’t they just shut the camera off when they argue?

The press release states, “the couples invite viewers into their homes via mounted cameras, diary cams, and virtual group chats. The series will also feature never-before-seen footage captured by couples, revealing deeply intimate access to their lives, including births of their MAFS babies, and other personal highlights of their lives, since their time on their seasons.” It sounds like such a random assortment of content, but I’ll give it a try.

Married at First Sight: Couples’ Cam debuts on Lifetime May 20 at 8 PM. Let’s take a look at the couples who have signed on for the show.

Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner are back. The couple originally appeared on Season 1. She was so upset by his personal appearance that she cried throughout the wedding day, yet here they are, going strong. They have a 2-year-old daughter and a baby boy on the way

Ashley Petta and Anthony D’Amico got together during the show’s fifth season. They have a daughter named Mila. She runs her family’s bar/restaurant and he’s a sales director for a media company.

Shawniece Jackson and Jephte Pierre are a Season 6 pair, residing in Boston. They have a daughter named Laura. Shawniece works at a hospital during the day and she’s working on a wig line at night. Jephte is an elementary school teacher who is also contemplating a career change.

Season 7 couple Danielle and Bobby Dodd are based in Dallas. Danielle is a stay-at-home mom, focusing on their daughter Olivia. Bobby is a regional sales manager for a utility support structures company. They might add another baby to their family in the near future, or at least they’re discussing it.

Stephanie Sersen and AJ Vollmoeller got married on the show’s eighth season. They live in Philadelphia. AJ owns a staffing agency and Stephanie is a finance manager.

Kristine Killingsworth and Keith Dewar are another Season 8 couple. They also live in Philly. Keith is a biomedical technician and Kristine works in real estate. Currently, they are renovating their new home.

Beth Bice and Jamie Thompson got married in Charlotte during Season 9. Currently, they are living in the Bay Area in California. Jamie consults for a tech company and Elizabeth is an influencer. Oh, boy…

Deonna McNeill and Greg Okotie got married during the show’s ninth season. Greg owns a math learning center. Deonna is an operations manager at a financial technology company. On the side, they design and screen-print clothing. Deonna has “baby fever” and is hoping to expand their family in the near future.
