Guess what happens when you play yourself on television and your “character” isn’t exactly the epitome of compassion and fairness? Stassi Schroeder, star of Vanderpump Rules, can probably write a dissertation on it at this point. Right now the world is in a place where exposing inequality to people of color is flooding the media, and celebrities are not immune.
This isn’t Stassi’s first time at the tone-deaf rodeo. She has been accused of inappropriate actions before, but so have some of her co-stars. While it seems previous indiscretions of a racially insensitive nature are forgiven with an apology for some, Stassi’s are coming back to bite her in the ass. Faith Stowers spoke out about an incident where Stassi and Kristen Doute falsely accused her of a crime. Now Stassi is getting an education in Black Lives Matter and reaping what you sow.
The somewhat volatile cast of VPR are a cliquey bunch. They function in groups because not one has enough sense power to work alone. In 2018, Stassi and now-defunct friend Kristen called the cops on Faith in retaliation for sleeping with Jax Taylor. Why they went after Faith when Jax has a long history of being unfaithful is anyone’s guess, but now they have to answer for it.
Along with public apologies and sentiments of remorse, Stassi just got dumped by her agency and publicist. She has been with the same publicist since the beginning of her media career and represented by Metro Public Relations since 2018.

In an email screenshot posted on Instagram by Popculturedweeb, the firm is now all, “we don’t know her”. Responding to an inquiry regarding Stassi’s involvement with the company, they replied, “You are right, we are not responsible for her actions or words in those moments.” The email went on to say, “You are also right in that we can no longer represent her. We made the decision to remove Stassi from our roster yesterday and parted ways.”
While Stassi and Kristen have both publicly apologized for the incident against Faith, it remains to be seen if they have apologized to Faith herself. Guess what kids, it’s more about saying sorry to the person you humiliated, rather than appearing contrite to the general public because you got busted. Karma, it’s what’s for dinner!

The aftermath of Stassi’s actions resurfacing also include being dropped by several sponsors. No word on whether or not Kristen’s brand will equally suffer, but maybe she can make a new t-shirt that says, “It Was All Happening”…
Should people face consequences for past inappropriate actions? If so, shouldn’t co-stars Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni’s racist comments be revisited? Could this be a teaching moment that educates people on the harm of racially motivated words or behavior? Where does Lisa Vanderpump stand with Stassi and Kristen? Lisa is hot to trot in her efforts with the LGBTQIA community and the animal world. She pardoned both Max and Brett for making youthful mistakes, but if they had been out kicking puppies instead of saying stupid shit, would they still have a job?

Stassi has a big ‘ol wedding to plan and there were whispers about a spinoff with fiance, Beau Clark. That might turn to dust now. Kristen, well okay, no one really knows what Kristen does but both ladies are still employed by Bravo. The moral of the story seems to be, think before you speak. Think before you write. And most of all, think before you call the cops and falsely accuse someone of a crime. Cancel culture is alive and well and clearly not afraid to start making cuts.
