On Selling Sunset, there is a very clear narrative: Christine Quinn is the designated “villain” (even though she’s the most entertaining one on the show) and Chrishell Stause is the protagonist that we are supposed to root for. On the most recent season, Chrishell said she was blindsided when her husband This is Us star Justin Hartley filed for divorce.
She claimed that he told her that he filed via text message and then 40 minutes later it was front-page news. Most likely, the truth is somewhere in the middle, in regard to just how surprised Chrishell was by her split. Now add this random crossover into the mix: Vanderpump Rules OG Scheana Shay used to be friends with Chrishell and she has some insight on her split from Justin and some tea on why Chrishell (allegedly) ditched their friendship.
On a recent episode of her (cleverly named) podcast Scheananigans, Scheana interviewed Christine, so, of course the conversation inevitably turned to Chrishell. Daily Mail reported that Scheana theorized about the reasons behind Chrishell and Justin’s divorce. She said, “I think part of it was when Justin started to gain more fame than she’s ever had. I think there was a jealousy, competitiveness that in a relationship could ruin it ultimately.”
Scheana explained, “You know, like, now she’s not the one on a soap opera getting recognized when she goes out to dinner. Now she’s the girl taking the photos of him with fans and like she was just kind of lost, you know?”

Scheana continued, “To have like, because she was on the show when she was really young for several years. So to have like that level of fame, and then All My Children gets canceled, no one knows who you are anymore, you’re not really a working actress, now you’re in real estate and now you’re the one behind the camera.” So, how does Chrishell starring in a popular reality TV show factor in to that dynamic? That’s what I would like to know, especially since Justin never made a single appearance.

Scheana recalled, “I was like, ‘Hey, what’s y’all’s new address? I want to send something for Chrishell.’ And he was just like ‘Oh, my God, that’s so sweet. Thank you so much, really tough time.’ And then he gives me the address and he’s like, ‘Hope to see you soon’ and I was like, ‘Yeah, for sure.'”
That sounds nice. However, Chrishell, apparently, put her own negative spin on the story when she told other people about this. Scheana claimed, “he then twists this conversation to Jamie and was like, ‘Oh, my God. How embarrassing. Scheana texted?'”

Scheana said, “I don’t remember what it was she said exactly, but it was just, like, ‘How embarrassing’ with a bunch of, like, monkey-with-the-hands-over-the-face [emojis].”

Scheana also slammed Chrishell, saying, “I’ve just kept the peace. But for her to say now that Justin’s like, a big TV and movie star [so] she can’t be seen with reality people? I was like, ‘B**ch! You were just as much a fan of me as I was of you.’ We’ve all become friends, but now because Justin’s on This Is Us, I’m not good enough for you to hang out with and you’re gonna talk s**t about me?” And, now, Chrishell is on a reality TV show herself. Oh, the irony.
