Obviously, most of the loving and sweet moments between reality TV couples aren’t included in episodes. Unfortunately for those cast members, that’s because arguing and controversy usually make for much more interesting television.
Case in point, 90 Day Fiance couple Kalani Faagata and Asuelu Pulaa. He seems like a total sweetheart, but they often butt heads when their cultures clash. In addition to learning about each other’s cultures, Asuelu doesn’t have the best grasp on the English language, which makes some already-tough conversations even more difficult.
In a recent Instagram Story, Kalani addressed 90 Day Fiance viewers who have taken it upon themselves to diagnose Asuelu and his two sons with autism, without every meeting him or serving as their family physician.
The Instagram account 90dayfiancetoday shared a screenshot from Kalani’s response to these over-stepping remarks from their “fans.”

Kalani began, “It wouldn’t be logical for the people of Samoa to diagnose Americans as “mentally disabled” or “autistic” based on their inability to speak the Samoan language, as well as their inability to execute Samoan customs, right? So, why do so many of you feel comfortable assessing someone from a different country and culture, based on your American ideals and normalcy?” Very well said, Kalani.
Unfortunately, no matter how well Kalani articulates herself, there are going to be some people that don’t care about what she’s saying and will continue to throw out unsolicited medical diagnoses.

Kalani shared, “Starting today, I’m blocking anyone that ‘lovingly’ messages me to have my kids and Asuelu assessed. My mom worked in that field for almost 20 years.” She explained, “I’d trust her assessments over people, who ironically can’t even differentiate between homophones yet have the audacity to judge others based on their grasp of the language.” Good point, girl.
