We’re only a handful of episodes into Real Housewives of Potomac season 5, but damn the drama is flowing. Such an epic franchise. New Housewife Wendy Osefo is already making statements about the “bullying” she endured all season. Karen Huger is saying Gizelle Bryant is jealous of Monique Samuels. Then there’s Candiace Dillard claiming some housewives wanted to question the paternity of Monique’s son. And if you have a pulse you’ve hopefully seen the season teaser of the physical fight between Candiace and Monique.
As a change of pace, the recent episodes have also included insight into Ashley Darby’s post-partum struggles. Don’t worry though. My girl is about to come through with some messy shenanigans for us to enjoy.
Ashley teaseed some upcoming fireworks between her and Wendy during an interview with Betches. When asked about her first impressions of new castmate, Ashley shared, “You know when Wendy first came into the group she was wearing a Gucci belt, she had her hair done, she had her gold earrings in, she had her sparkly nails.” Is this a “say something nice” challenge? Probably.
If you’ve forgotten, Wendy came to this group as a friend of Candiace. Remember all the shade Candiace threw Ashley’s way last year? I’m sure Ashley’s rightfully skeptical of new girl Wendy, with all that in the back of her mind.

By the way, I want to take this moment to relive the scene where Candiace literally expressed she and Wendy are basically on the same level. Uhhhh. Wendy is a professor, political commentator, mother, and an immigrant to this country. Candiace is a mother-sponsored beauty queen from….what competition exactly? Yea I know she stood next to President Obama once when she was an intern like 8+ years ago. So what?
Ashley continued, “It was like the first thing I noticed about [Wendy] was just like her bling. I mean she was literally like blinding me. It was like glinting into my eye every time I looked at her.” Yea. We get it. Flashy lady coming through. Get to the good stuff.

Slowly Ashley transitioned her kindness into some shade. She quipped, “So her appearance spoke volumes. As I got to know her I realized that her personality matched her appearance.” Well well well. You don’t say?
