Real Housewives of New York fans weren’t ever given a proper introduction to Elyse Slaine. She just sort of kept popping up during Season 12 and was listed as “Ramona Singer’s friend.”
Elyse also claimed that she introduced RHONY alums Jill Zarin and Bethenny Frankel. If any of this had been mentioned during the season, it might have made Elyse seem more interesting.
Instead, viewers were treated to the implosion of Elyse’s friendship with Ramona. When asked what Elyse contributed to the show, Ramona responded, “I don’t think she really brings anything with the mix. I think you can see she doesn’t really fit in.”

But the Singer Stinger wasn’t done slamming Elyse yet. “She didn’t even make it as a friend. Bravo doesn’t even call her a friend.” Ouch. It certainly looks like Ramona doesn’t call Elyse a friend, either. Ramona also stated that Elyse was only using her to become famous.
Elyse went after Ramona and posted screenshots of alleged text messages where Ramona praised Elyse and what an amazing addition she was to the RHONY cast. Their feud escalated when Elyse was filming a Cameo video for a fan discussing why Ramona can’t find, and keep, a man. Their co-star Leah McSweeney blurted out, “It’s because she sh*ts during sex.” Well, I certainly wasn’t expecting that, but with Ramona’s history of bathroom issues, maybe I should have.

During Leah’s party to celebrate 15 years of her company, Married to the Mob, Elyse wanted to find out why Ramona was icing her out. Ramona even told Leah not to invite Elyse. Ramona arrived, and pretended not to know who Elyse was. I’m getting Mariah Carey vibes from Ramona’s performance.
When Elyse wasn’t invited to appear at the RHONY reunion, it was clear that she wasn’t getting her own apple next season. On September 20, Elyse broke the news on Twitter. She tweeted, “In response to many of your inquires the answer is no, I will not be returning to #RHONY. Thank you for your support, laughs, and friendship. I adore so many of you. I value you, and I am always available to chat.”

Elyse’s news was met with sadness from many of her followers. One fan wrote, “Boo…you were my favourite” with a crying face emoji. Another follower tweeted, “I’m so mad reading this. It’s not fair to the viewers that love you. First not being invited to the reunion, now this. Ramona must have really thrown a temper tantrum.”
“I really don’t like the fighting,” Elyse tweeted. “Viewers never got to see what caused our fallout, but it was pretty disgusting and disheartening.” So, what did cause the demise of Ramona and Elyse’s friendship? I am sure that someday one of the ladies will spill the beans, and I am here for it!
