Braunwyn Windham-Burke kicked off Season 15 of Real Housewives of Orange County by putting alcohol behind her and admitting to the viewers that she’s an alcoholic.
She’s been sober ever since with the help of support groups, advice from Captain Sandy Yawn, and even Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent.
During a recent appearance on Give Them Lala…. With Randall, Braunwyn shared, “I messaged Lala probably two or three days [after deciding to become sober]. I knew she was sober and I found her on Instagram and said, ‘Hi, I’m Braunwyn. How did you do this? Can I do this?'”
Braunwyn recalled, “And Lala was so sweet. She got right back to me. She was like ‘I’m so proud of you. Yes, you can do it. My cast has been supportive.’ So, I just want it to throw it out there that I reached out for help, you know and advice.”

Braunwyn admitted, “I didn’t know in the climate of the shows that we film if it’s possible to stay sober on a reality show that has a lot to do with drinking.” It’s possible, but definitely difficult considering that most of the scenes do revolve around drinking and parties.
That’s when Lala told Braunwyn, “I’m sorry, but people with alcohol in them [are] much more interesting. You’re uninhibited, you say crazy shit.” Oh, girl. I get the point you’re trying to make, but the delivery on that one was just very off. Then Lala shared, “I’ve learned without the alcohol, I’m still saying crazy shit.” Ain’t that the truth? Lala was downright ruthless last season when she was talking down to Raquel Leviss and Scheana Shay.

Lala told Braunwyn, “I just looked at you drunk like ‘Fuck yeah, it’s a weening party. She’s done breastfeeding. Awesome.’ So when you reached out to me, it was like ‘Wow, she suffered when the cameras were down just as much as I did.'”

Braunwyn said, “When the cameras shut down, I did it.”
Then, she dropped a pretty interesting bombshell: “I will say there’s a lot they don’t show. They try to protect us, maybe. Or at least they try to protect me because you don’t see me passed out on the chair later. They didn’t air the third day in Miraval when I was walking around literally with a bottle of tequila drinking it straight. I almost got kicked off an airplane and production had to beg [them] to let me on.”

That’s when Randall Emmett chimed in with “Lala too. You have a lot in common. Lala almost got kicked off going from Vegas.”
