Most of us watch reality TV for an escape. However, there are some topics we just can’t avoid and coronavirus is one of them. We’ve seen the cast of Real Housewives of New York shooting their out-of-focus at-home confessional interviews. We’ve seen almost every Bravo show shoot a Zoom reunion in response to the pandemic. However, the New York Housewives were able to shoot the reunion in person because each person was spaced six feet apart.
Aside from dictating the setup of the reunion, coronavirus was also a conversation topic with Leah McSweeney and Dorinda Medley slamming Ramona Singer’s pandemic behavior. Then, rumors started to swirl that production on the upcoming season paused because one of the cast members tested positive for coronavirus. Apparently, that’s only half true.
People corrected Daily Mail‘s report that it was a Housewife’s positive coronavirus diagnosis that paused production. Someone did get the virus and production did pause. However, it was actually a member of production, not one of the show’s stars.

A source told People, “A Housewife never tested positive for coronavirus.” The cast members get tested multiple times a week and, apparently, they’ve all “regularly received negative results” and filming for the upcoming season has resumed.

Dorinda and Tinsley Mortimer are out of the picture for next season. Real Housewives of New York Season 13 will feature Leah, Ramona, Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, and the newest Housewife Eboni K. Williams. Hopefully, everyone will practice caution and remain safe for the remainder of filming.
