Kenneth Niedermeier and Armando Rubio are the first male same sex couple in the 90 Day Fiance franchise. This couples story line veered from just being entertaining TV to exposing cultural discrimination against same-sex couples. Viewers watched as Kenny, used to the progressive vibe in Florida, struggled to legitimize his relationship with Armando in Mexico.
Not only did they deal with Armando’s family struggling to accept them, but also legal discrimination when the courts refused to grant them a marriage license. It was heartbreaking to watch, especially as Armando’s daughter Hannah picked up on the struggles her father had to endure in order to wed his partner.
But on the recent episode of 90 Day Fiance The Other Way, Kenneth and Armando finally received the news they were waiting for. The Human Rights Court approved their marriage petition, thereby giving them the right to wed. This is what viewers have been watching for all season. True love that conquers all. There is no better story line than that.
In honor of this news, both Kenneth and Armando posted statements to Instagram for their fan base. They included pictures from their sunset horse ride that viewers saw during the last episode.
“Love wins,” Kenny wrote, “I personally want to extend my heart to all of you that supported us this year, your support made this TV journey so worth it. Even those who did not support us, you helped make us a stronger couple and family.”

This couple persevered through a lot of challenges, and Kenny hopes their story can serve as an inspiration to others.
He said, “remember, everything is worth the wait and fighting for if you know it’s right for you. We decided together to bust through any of The obstacles that came before us as a couple…we will continue with that in our future. Our story isn’t over and so much still is yet unwritten…here’s to love and hope for everyone. If you believe in it, you can achieve it!”
Armando thanked fans and advised others to keep fighting for their love as well.
“LOVE AND NEVER GIVE UP,” Armando wrote, “I value the kindness, support and love throughout these months. We owe this great experience during this season to you, the viewers. Truly humbled, thank you so much. Amor es Amor.”
