Braunwyn Windham-Burke’s Daughter Says She Sent Her To A Hotel When She Had An Eating Disorder And Mocked Her For Not Eating A Vegetable

Real Housewives of Orange County fans have seen glimpses of Braunwyn Windham-Burke and Sean Burke’s daughter Rowan throughout Braunwyn’s two years on the show. Last season, we saw Rowan’s fashion show for her dance wear line, which included a hysterical moment with a woman in a red coat yelling at Kelly Dodd.

We’ve also heard about Rowan’s struggles with OCD and her body image. Now, Rowan herself is speaking out about a tough experience that she went through with her mother when she was struggling with an eating disorder.

Reality TV Bliss shared a video that Rowan posted where she admitted, “Every time I think about that night, I cry.”

She recalled, “So, basically that night, I got home and she was really intense. My mom tends to do this thing where she doesn’t react in the best way. Especially at first, she reacts from a place of fear. So, I remember one of the things she told me. She told me, ‘You won’t even eat a fucking vegetable.’ And that stuck with me for a very long time.” There’s a difference between encouraging someone to take care of themselves and mocking them. It’s very sad that Rowan had to go through this.

Rowan recalled, “Just like, she was bringing my little sister over to me. And basically making me feel bad, saying I ‘couldn’t even eat a vegetable for her.’ My little sister was like one at the time. She was a really tiny baby.” Wow.

Unfortunately, that night got worse for Rowan. She said, “So, it was a really hard night and then my mom didn’t want me in the house. So, I went to a hotel with my dad and I stayed there for a bit and [then] we went home to sleep because I wanted to sleep in my bed. And then, the next morning, my mom didn’t want me in the house, so I went to school for a couple hours before I got sent away.  And it was a horrible day. I just sat there, not doing anything.” It’s hard to hear that, so I can’t imagine how tough that was for her to experience.

Rowan shared, “One of my teachers was like ‘You have to participate’ and stuff like that and I was like ‘I’m literally getting sent away in a couple hours, please don’t make me.’ Obviously they didn’t. That was intense. And, obviously, I had zero food in me. I was like brain dead at the time too from all of this.”

She continued, “So then, I got picked up from school and I went in the car with my dad and he took me to… it was Center for Discovery. If you know what Center for Discovery is, which some of you might, because it’s a really popular eating disorder place.”

That must have been an incredibly difficult experience for Rowan. It was probably also a tough thing to share. Hopefully, she is getting the support she needs.
