What’s the natural progression these days when a reality star has established themselves as a household name? Create a product to capitalize on your name and recognition of course. It started with the Kardashians, but now Bravolebrities have taken the helm on this trade.
No idea is too mundane, though you may not be taken seriously until your product takes off. Take Craig Conover. The Southern Charm star was mocked when he bought a sewing machine and started creating pillows. It’s a different story now that Sewing Down South proved successful. It may have inspired Patricia Altschul to create her own line. And while competition may be friendly, it’s still competition.
Hints of conflict started when Patricia and her son Whitney Sudler-Smith watched Craig pitch his pillows on HSN during the December 10th episode of Southern Charm. “You and Craig are having kind of like a home shopping standoff,” Whitney said to Patricia as they watched Craig’s segment, “you have a deal; he has a deal.”
But after the episode aired, Patricia told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that she supports Craig and even has one of his, “beautiful, apricot-colored” pillows by her pool.

Patricia also insists that there is no conflict between herself and Craig. “I don’t consider Craig competition in any way, in any form,” she told Andy, “my pillows are unique and in the luxury category. Craig’s pillows are affordable.”
But despite Patricia’s protests, she even said, “I think he did great; I love Craig,” Craig took offence to her “affordable” comment.

Craig had his turn on WWHL on December 17th where he told Andy that he was surprised to see Patricia’s interview. Bravo’s The Daily Dish shared a clip of Craig’s response.
“Sewing Down South is doing very well, and … I root for everyone,” Craig said, “but, I think Patricia’s jealousy has set in — I don’t think she thought we were going to be this successful.”

Craig then raised the stakes with a little name-calling. “I don’t know why she turned into kind of a catty little child about it,” he said.
Though Patricia touts the exclusivity of her line, Craig revealed that her manufacturing practices aren’t. He explained, “our pillows are nothing alike. Her pillows are made in China. And ours are made right here in the USA.”
What was that about luxury Patricia?
