Former It-Girl turned Real Housewives of New York star Tinsley Mortimer is known for living in a fairy tale world. All she wants is a happily ever after no matter what it takes. She’s taken to freezing her eggs, ignoring red flags, and ultimately giving up her life and career to try to find it with Scott Kluth.
But that fantasy came crashing down last week when Scott (who apparently hates the press) ran to the tabloids to announce he and Tins have been done for months. Her friends responded, saying she was totally blindsided by the statement. However, new information might reveal that both might have been telling the truth. Apparently, the drama results from miscommunication.
A close source to Tinsley (could it be Dale Mercer?) told Page Six that the it-girl wasn’t totally caught off guard by the breakup. Rather, she just didn’t take all of Scott‘s hints.
He had apparently been “communicating” to Tinsley for months that it was over. This was according to an “insider.” Most likely, that “insider” is probably Scott himself.
“Her perception of when they broke up is clearly different from Scott’s,” the source said. “But Scott communicated to her that they were broken up months ago.” To be fair, the couple had a vicious cycle of making-up and breaking-up.
Tinsdale probably just thought it was a fake-out, especially because she had a ring on her finger this time.

Tinsley’s friends think the same thing. They told Page Six it was “a real mindf—k.”
They said, “This was the type of pattern he would do to her through the four years they were dating. And now she left her career and basically everything for him. She had no choice but to try and make it work and stick it out with him through this unhealthy pattern.”
This totally makes sense — as I said, Tinsley will do anything to get her happily ever after. Just watch her final scene of RHONY prior to the finale — she dramatically says bye to New York and is off to bigger and better things (being Scott’s Coupon Queen) in Chicago.

The two got engaged at the end of 2019, but postponed their wedding because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This gave Scott enough time to get cold feet and call it off before he really had to commit.
Hey, at least he didn’t leave her at the altar. Unfortunately, that sounds like something melodramatic enough that would actually happen to Tinsley.
For now, we’ll have to wait and see what Tinsley does next. We know she’ll never stop looking for her prince charming. And, hopefully, this drama means she’s finally done with Scott for real this time. Let’s just hope she returns to the Big Apple and let the RHONY cameras follow her around. And even though Sonja Morgan, Luann de Lesseps and Ramona Singer might not always be the best wing women, they’ll definitely know more than a few bachelors to set her up with.
