Real Housewives Alum Kara Keough Is Pregnant After Suffering Heartbreaking Loss

Gosh, we really don’t get to share enough incredibly wonderful news. Long time Real Housewives of Orange County fans remember the good ‘ol days when Vicki Gunvalson and her first face shared the screen with OG Housewife, Jeana Keough. Viewers watched as Jeana navigated her life raising kids in an affluent environment with a husband who was basically checked out. After five seasons on the show, we got to know Jeana’s family pretty well.

After Jeana left RHOC, her children grew up and did their own thing. Her only daughter, Kara Keough married Kyle Bosworth, a former NFL linebacker. Kara and Kyle made Jeana a grandma when she gave birth to her first daughter, Decker Kate Bosworth in 2016. The couple were preparing for kid #2 in April of last year when what can only be described as a horrible tragedy took place. Kara and Kyle lost their newborn son after her delivery suffered a terrible mishap. After enduring the most grueling year of her life, which included her father Matt Keough also passing away, Kara has some incredibly happy news.

Reading about what Kara, her husband, and her family went through after the loss of their child was beyond heartbreaking. They had no warning signs and could be in no way prepared for what ultimately happened during their son’s birth. On April 6 of last year, Kara gave birth to McCoy Casey Bosworth. During the delivery, McCoy experienced “shoulder dystocia and a compressed umbilical cord”, lost oxygen, and passed away. There were no ultrasounds that could have predicted this, no amniocentesis that could have given a heads up.

McCoy’s death was unimaginable, it is every mother’s greatest fear – to lose her child. The grief Kara and her family experienced was palpable, but to Kara’s credit, she was gracious and honest. She shared her feelings and attempts to heal with her social media followers. She became a voice for other women who had endured similar pain and loss. Now, almost exactly one year later, Kara’s journey has taken another turn. But this time, we’re going for joy.

On Instagram, Kara shared the following Easter message. “For Christians, for Jews, and for me, this time is a reminder of the death of firstborn sons. Sacrifice. Suffering. Mourning. Grief.” Then Kara detailed what will always be the worst time of her life. “Why is this night different than other nights? Last Easter was the worst night of my life. We held our firstborn son in our arms as he took his final breaths. We spent time in the hell that is watching your child die.” Excuse me, I must pause and go smother my children with hugs.

Kara continued, “This Easter is decidedly better. Despite that wretched Easter night, I can’t ignore that this day also represents rebirth. Renewed hope. It is said that the word ‘Easter’ is derived from the goddess Eostre. Eostre, the goddess of fertility, symbolizes the birth of new life and the dawn of spring. And so it is for us.” The post features three photos of Easter baskets. One for Decker. One for McCoy. And one with a little rainbow onesie.

Go ahead and get your tissues, I’ve got mine. Kara added, “New life, the dawn of something beautiful and restorative. Quite literally rising from the ground. We miss you, Mack-a-doodle. Thank you for sending us this sacred gift. You’re a big brother! Tell Grandpa that I said he was right. He’ll know what I mean.”

All of us at Reality Tea would like to extend heartfelt congratulations and send every good wish to the Bosworth’s.
