On the bright side, we haven’t been inundated with media featuring the extraness of Braunwyn Windham-Burke in a few weeks. It might be fair to say we all needed a reprieve from her… “antics”. Now that time has come to an end because the Real Housewives of Orange County star is back in the news. I know you’re probably thinking, “what has ‘ol Braunie done this time?” She’s already taken every existing storyline possible and condensed them into one season.
Braunwyn admitted to being an alcoholic and struggled with sobriety on camera. She also came out as a lesbian but did not want to end her twenty-year marriage with husband and statement necklace aficionado, Sean Burke. Braunwyn and Sean remain married, despite Braunwyn not being attracted to men. She even went so far as to say she didn’t want Sean to start dating other women. Speaking of other women, Braunwyn went and got herself a girlfriend, Kris. After five months of pap shots and trying to make a courtship within a marriage work, it seems like Kris has jumped ship.
Braunwyn had a pretty normal first season on RHOC, but when the Rona came and put everyone on lockdown, all hell broke loose during her sophomore run. Braunwyn allowed her children to be filmed as storylines. Her son Jacob Burke dipped his toes into the glamourous waters of the Drag community and daughter Rowan Burke attempted to cope while her mom challenged most people’s idea of a “normal parent”. Braunwyn’s own mother, Dr. Deb, has also been heavily featured. The unconventional doctor, with her Rainbow Brite hair and love for all things Burning Man, gave a bit of insight into what could have possibly lead Braunwyn down a difficult path.
As Braunie traveled the trail of getting sober, she also found a girlfriend. She previously said, “I’m a member of the LGBTQ+ community. It has taken me 42 years to say that but I am so proud of where I am right now. I’m so happy where I am. To be able to be comfortable in my own skin after so long is just so nice.” It must also be nice to have a husband who doesn’t dump your ass after being hit multiple times in front of their kids. But I digress…

After striking up her first female-oriented relationship with Kris, Braunwyn remained committed to Sean on paper, but divided her time between the two. “When I’m with Sean, I’m with Sean. When I’m with Kris, I’m with Kris. [I] give them a hundred percent of me when I’m with them.” Friends, this is what we call having your cake and eating it too. Well, it looks like Kris is sick of cake because according to TMZ, she’s out. RUN KRIS, RUUUUUN.
Sources with direct knowledge have said Braunwyn and Kris ended their relationship over a month ago. But, the split was amicable. While Braunwyn has not publicly addressed the break-up, there will probably be moody paparazzi shots of Braunwyn walking solemnly on a beach released shortly. The now former couple met on a dating app and the insider shared it was a typical end to any relationship that simply runs its course.

Since the apparent split, sources say Braunwyn continues to date other women, but she’s just playing the field. We don’t know what’s ahead for the next season of RHOC, Andy Cohen raised a few eyebrows when he hinted a full overhaul could be in the works. One thing is for sure, if Braunwyn sticks around, she will literally have to sprout wings and fly to Mars because she’s done everything else.
