With the camping trip out of the way, it’ll be interesting to see how things develop for The Real Housewives Of Dallas. Kary Brittingham was the absolute worst on that entire trip, and her behavior was despicable. The audacity to be that cruel and humiliate someone on national television the way she did to the Bigfoot hunter was gut wrenching. Stephanie Hollman should have held her accountable at a much higher level than she did. Shame on both of them.
Everyone in the group is in a decent place right now. It makes you wonder when the other shoe’s going to drop in the drama will break back out again. Brandi Redmond is finally starting to act more like herself around the group. Tiffany Moon is finally fitting in with the other women after the rockiest start of all time. However, in this group of women it doesn’t take much for the peace to be thrown out the window and the drama to kick into high gear.
Brandi is planning a trip for all of the women to the legendary Southfork Ranch from the TV series Dallas. This is huge y’all. I’m talking major honey. First of all, my grandmother as we speak is binge watching the original series. That’s how important this show is to my family. For the Dallas housewives to take a trip there is the ultimate crossover I never knew I needed.
Dallas was THAT show. Back in the day it was EVERYTHING. They’re spending the night there how iconic is that. My fandom for the show is really coming through right now, and I’m really sorry for who I might become. EWING OIL! However, I’ll try to contain myself. Let’s see where this journey takes us.
D’Andra Simmons visits her shaman to talk about the new developments with her family. I hope she agrees to meet with her stepmother. I understand her hesitancy because she doesn’t want to revisit the past. That’s totally understable. To move forward though, she needs to open herself up to what her stepmother has to say.
D’Andra admits she’s had an issue with reacting in the past. It’s tough to do that though when you’re put in high pressure situations. She has no idea what her stepmother’s going to say. She could end up triggered fairly quickly into the conversation. If putting her family back together truly matters though, she might have to do it. Life isn’t always Candyland and smooth sailing.
The shaman prepares for a fire ceremony that’s supposed to help D’Andra. I’m confused about what that is, but if it helps D’Andra I’m all for it. Give her all the healing ceremonies and crystals she can possibly take.
She’s burning up her old habits and mistakes, so she can have a more successful future. It actually sounds really cool the more they dive into specifics. I don’t see anything wrong with it. I don’t know why Brandi was so resistant to it. However, I’m definitely not here to judge anyone’s religious preferences.
I’ll never get over that weird nose blowing thing the shaman does. It grosses me out, and I can barely look at the screen. If it works for D’Andra though, that’s all that matters.
D’Andra feels like she’s become a better version of herself throughout all of this. The meeting with her stepmother will be the first opportunity to put all of this into action. It’s going to take all of this and more from what I’ve heard about the woman. From the sounds of it, her stepmother through away their relationship over money. How can someone do that to family?
Tiffany arranges for a spa day with her girls. Another example of these baby children living more lavishly than me. If Tiffany wants to adopt me into her family, I have zero objections. In fact, I welcome the change in family. Take me away from the craziness I’m in, and pamper me forever.
In all seriousness, it’s great that Tiffany’s able to spend more time with her family. It was painful to watch her agonize in the early part of the season over her work/home balance. Her job’s incredibly demanding and getting to spend quality time with her family seemed impossible. It’s so nice that she was able to successfully cut back on her schedule. One day a week makes a ton of difference in actuality.
Things between Tiffany and her mother have improved since Tiffany had the courage to open up to her. To Tiffany’s surprise, her mother wants to spend more time with her. She’s even saying “I love you” which was something she never did previously. This is a huge step in the right direction for these two. Hopefully their bond continues to strengthen as they grow closer.
This is everything Tiffany’s always dreamed of. However, a small part of her can’t help but wonder when something bad will happen. She expects everything to go to s**t at some point. It’s sad to hear it, but that’s how she’s always had to face life. Things have never been this good for Tiffany, so it’s understandable she’s be weary of this happiness.
Kary goes out to eat with her daughters which is amazing to see. Her family’s been struggling recently, and she’s doing all she can to help them through her. This bonding time should go a long way into helping boost their overall morale.
She arranged for them to have a Mexican chef’s table experience which looks so cool. They’re able to not only watch the food be made, but they’re able to help out as well. It’s equal parts delicious and educational. Does it get any better than that?
Olivia’s going back to college which is making Kary a bit nervous. With all of her recent struggles with anxiety and depression it’s natural for her to be concerned. I think she’s better suited to deal with all of it now than before though. Kary’s a lot of things (most of them not so great), but she’s a devoted and loving mother. She takes the time to listen to their problems and help anyway she can. Everyone deserves to have a parent like that.
Even things with Kary and her own mother are going a lot better lately. Having the chance to get everything off her chest and get a much needed apology must’ve been a major relief. Kary’s carried that resentment for so many years, and now she’s able to live without that burden.
These conversations have made it possible for the girls to get closer to their grandmother. Without finally talking about those issues, they wouldn’t be video chatting her from the restaurant. It just wouldn’t be happening. Kary was selfless enough to have that talk with her mom for the sake of the girls. It’s a wild juxtaposition to how she acts around the women.
THE TIME HAS ARRIVED. D’Andra’s meeting face to face with her wicked stepmother. I’m nervous for her. She has no idea what to expect from this woman. So much time has passed, and her stepmother could be showing up with any sort of agenda. Way too many variables.
Momma Dee tells D’Andra that the stepmother’s going to be loud and not to take any crap. I wish D’Andra had the confidence of her mother. There’s only so much crap you can take from someone. Clearly, Momma Dee has no warm and fuzzy feelings about D’Andra’s stepmother. That’s evident. However, she’s making many valid points.
D’Andra needs to stand up for herself if her stepmother comes sideways at her. Do not let this woman waltz in from your past and walk all over you. Absolutely not. It’s obvious that Dee doesn’t want them to patch things up. She’d probably like nothing more than for this to go left and permanently end the relationship.
Jeremy Lock doesn’t agree with Dee’s view of the upcoming meeting. Some things he doesn’t side with her on, but there are things he doesn’t vibe with. He doesn’t want D’Andra to show up to the sit down on the attack. That’s not going to help her achieve her ultimate goal. What she really wants is to reclaim the relationship with that side of ehr family. Showing up guns blazing isn’t going to help her reach that conclusion.
To no surprise, D’Andra’s stepmother asked not to be filmed. Over two hours later the meeting concludes, and we get to hear the results of the meeting. To her surprise, they didn’t hash out the past as much as she expected.
Unfortunately, her brother doesn’t want a relationship with her. She went through all of this for nothing basically. She’s putting out so much effort into the universe to fix this, but it was all pointless. My heart breaks for D’Andra because you could tell how badly she wanted things to work out. Sadly, some people spend their entire lives staying bitter about the past.
Brandi’s Southfork Ranch trip is getting closer, and it sounds like a fabulous event is in store. The final night of the trip will feature a dinner that includes all of the husbands. If I’m not mistaken, that’s the first time all season the husband’s will be present like that.
The first event is going to be an 80’s theme which is always a lot of fun. I hosted an 80’s themed charity event a few years ago, and it was a smash success. The costumes, the hair, everything. It was to die for. I even had BELLY DANCERS performing. I would kill to be able to be at Southfork Ranch for this weekend.
It surprised me a bit to see that they don’t all have their own rooms. When I pictured this mansion, I imagined there’d be enough beds for all of the women. However, I was wrong because Tiffany is sharing a bed with Stephanie & Brandi. That sounds like actual torture. My idea of hell is being sandwiched in between those two while they make poop jokes and fart noises.
This is the most ratchet murder mystery party I’ve ever witnessed. If The Sopranos merged with American Idol, it would be this. Why do I feel like next week’s finale is going to be extremely disappointing?
