The Real Housewives of Potomac are gearing up to return to our screens this summer, with a few new faces thrown into the mix. One person, and pet, we won’t be seeing is Monique Samuels and her beloved bird T’Challa after a drama-filled reunion pushed her to quit the show. Season 5 was a lot following Monique’s fight with Candiace Dillard to people having plenty of opinions about the reunion that split the Bravo-verse in half.
Monique had an action-packed four seasons on RHOP before calling it quits after Season 5. Now she’s doing her own thing, still working on her parenting website/podcast and unveiling the contents of her binder for any fans that still care to hear the tea. And, of course, being a super mom to her adorable little family.
Unfortunately, tragedy recently struck for Monique and her family, according to a recent Instagram post from the former RHOP star. Monique posted over the weekend that her cousin was tragically killed. “This hurts so much,” her post began. “Can barely sleep… unbelievable. Please say a prayer for my fam. My cousin was killed last night. One of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. He’s always smiling and takes care of everyone.” Monique did not disclose exactly how her cousin was killed or his name, but it’s truly heartbreaking to hear.

Her cousin was also a father. “He’s a great dad to his son and minds his business. We live in an evil world where life is not valued anymore and it’s sad. Thank you for the prayers. My cousins (his sis and bro) need them so badly right now. I don’t even know what to say,” Monique continued. Additionally, it seems as though a suspect has not been identified yet in the murder. “Whoever did this- I hope you rot in the deepest, darkest pit in hell,” Monique concluded her posts.

Monique received an overwhelming response from fans and fellow Bravolebroities. “Sending prayers your way,” RHOP’s Grand Dame Karen Huger wrote. And Real Housewives of Dallas’s D’Andra Simmons also commented she was praying for Monique’s family.
