Shahs Of Sunset Star Reza Farahan Is Writing A Book

Shahs of Sunset is finally back on the Bravo screen. One thing this show boasts that many of the suffering Real Housewives franchises do not? Actual, longstanding, friendships. Prior to their current (and very major) feud, Reza Farahan and Mercedes “MJ” Javid had been friends for THIRTY years. The very delayed reunion of season 8 showed fans some hope for these two, but not so much that they’ve come into season 9 as friends again.

Reza has made statements of his regret for his part in the clash between himself and MJ. MJ has remained mostly quiet on the issue, despite supposedly trying to come between Reza and Adam Neely, his husband. Interestingly, MJ has been making other public statements. She was seen commenting about her husband, Tommy Feight “living a lie” in recent months. Here’s to hoping season 9 reveals even more deep dark secrets within this chaotic friendship circle.

While we all wait to see what the latest epidotes have in store, it looks like Reza will be giving us a little history lesson on the Shahs in his own way. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight he revealed, “I’m writing a book, it’s called Memoirs of a Gay Shah.” I give it a 10/10 for the punny title that far outplays the likes of “Average Expectations” and “Next Level Basic” that Reza’s Bravo-peers have put out.

Reza revealed how meaningful the writing process was for him, especially as it pertained to his lost friendship with MJ. He shared, “So here I am, writing down all this stuff about my life. And I’m finding that MJ was a part of so much of it. And to be able to honor the good things, you have to somehow reconcile the devastation.”

“When I wrote down all the things that MJ was a part of in my life, I realized the tapestry was really big and vivid and beautiful, and, yeah, there were a few things on it, but you don’t throw this mother-f**king antique-a**, 30-year-old tapestry out because this one corner survived a fire. You f**king fold the b***h over and do a little hem and you call it, like, oblong. Whatever. You work it out,” Reza explained.

Reza also admitted that “writing down the good, the bad and the ugly” of his life really put things in perspective. He liked it to a call for action to stop playing games with those who matter in his life. Can’t wait to see how he puts these new lessons into practice!
