Andy Cohen Reunites With His Dog After Re-Homing Him Last Year

Who doesn’t love a good dog storyline on Bravo? Our furry friends bring out all the feels. A recent-ish personal favorite was the hilarity of Sonja Morgan mindlessly sharing her hairbrush with Marley on camera. There’s also the scene of Giggy drinking from one of Adrienne Maloof’s goblets at a dinner party. Iconic.

The loss of Bravo-pups, however, never gets any easier. The internet just about blew-up when Bethenny Frankel Instagram-lived her dog’s health crisis. Unfortunately, Cookie later passed at the ripe age of seventeen! There was also the loss of Kenya Moore’s darling Velvet, which caused quite the stir off screen. More recently, Andy Cohen rehomed his beloved Wacha following the birth of his son, Benjamin Allen Cohen.

Back in May of 2020Andy made the difficult decision to move Wacha to the place he had considered a “second home.” The move came following some concerning behavior Wacha was showing around Baby Ben. When Andy made the announcement he shared, “No effort was spared in the attempt to help Wacha feel adjusted. After an incident a few months ago, numerous professionals led me to the conclusion that my home is simply not a good place for him. Keeping him here could be catastrophic for Ben and worse for Wacha.”

Andy has kept in touch with his previous sidekick over the last year. More recently, he and Wacha had a reunion of sorts. Andy posted the moment on his Instagram. The video showed Wacha giving Andy playful licks and smooches, and Andy, of course, giving him kisses right back. In the post Andy said, “It is my absolute lucky day today because I get to visit with my No. 1.”

Andy focused the camera on his former beagle-foxhound and said, “Hey Wacha, say hi to the people!” Andy added, “We miss you, Wacha! It’s a good day today, it’s also beautiful out. And this dog is beautiful.”

For those who don’t know, Andy rescued Wacha from a kill shelter in 2013. A real rags to riches, Vanderpump Dogs, level story. When Andy knew it was finally time to find Wacha a new home, he made sure it was somewhere Wacha would be comfotable. Andy explained that he picked a home where Wacha had “lived every single time I went out of town.”

Andy has now had time to reflect. He has previously shared, “When I think of him — let’s be honest, when don’t I think of him — it’s with the clarity that we were meant to come into each other’s lives exactly when we did, and that he’s happy, which gives me peace of mind. We did rescue each other.” Everyone hug their fur-babies close tonight!
