Who’s ready for Vanderpump Rules? It’s been a while since we’ve seen our favorite messy SUR-vers make pump-tinis, but we know they’re finally filming Season 9 after a long hiatus. We also know things are going to look a little different this year since half of the OG cast has been fired.
Scheana Marie, Lala Kent, Ariana Madix, Tom Sandoval, Tom Schwartz, Katie Maloney, James Kennedy and new fiancé Raquel Leviss are returning. Writing their names out you realize how many people are still a part of the cast. We do know we can expect a lot of parenthood talk from new moms, Scheana and Lala, and we can bet on a lot of talk about TomTom. But what else might this very different season hold?
In an exclusive interview with Access, Tom 1 and Tom 2 answered questions about the upcoming season. The Toms tend to talk over each other a lot, but one thing they seemed to say in the exact same words was that we can expect, “some very awkward, uncomfortable things.” This sounds familiar. Sandoval also says that “there’s been some amazingly emotional things between people that don’t normally have that.”
One such shift, Sandoval discusses, is how Lisa Vanderpump is a bit different this season. “I feel Lisa this time around is a little more involved – not just as a boss but as a friend.” He is referring to his own relationship with LVP because he added, “I’ve always considered Lisa a friend. But, you know, it’s a lot different when I’m bartending for her than if we’re just like – when we’re partners. And [our relationship has] changed a little bit and it’s much more for the better.”

Sandoval says that the audience is definitely “going to see that difference. And you’re going to like it.” We will have to wait and see because I know I tend to like LVP better when she’s bossing these people around.
As for Schwartz – he wasn’t really able to get too many words in edgewise. But he did however share quickly – and tease vaguely – that “there’s been some blowups already.” Looks like we will have to tune in to find out who these blowups involve. My money’s on Lala being front and center.
