The world of restaurants for these Housewives never looks easy. This isn’t the time or place to get into Lisa Vanderpump, but I think we all know it’s been a rough road. Like, really rough. And I can’t not honorably mention the pizza place Joe Giudice and Teresa Giudice “opened” before filing for bankruptcy back in the day. Is anyone else curious how that Joe Gorga knock-off going? Me either.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta women have tried their hand in the restaurant/lounge biz as well. Although, none have been as successful as Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker. These two recently secured their own show following the happenings in the iconic Old Lady Gang restaurant! It’s all happening! Though, that’s not to say this family had their obstacles along the way.
After opening OLG in 2017, Kandi and Todd opened Blaze Steak and Seafood in November of last year. The steak and seafood spot is now re-opening after failing a health inspection and deciding to close for a brief period. According to the AJC story picked up by the Jasmine Brand, the restaurant failed it’s health inspection on Tuesday, May 18th. Following that failure, Todd and Kandi voluntarily closed the business to fix the issues cited by the inspector.
Please know, there were no bugs or rodents reported on the premises. Rather, there were several minor issues in the restaurant that added up to a failing score. It’s reported that Blaze Steak and Seafood lost nine points on their inspection after witnessing a food handler moving from raw seafood to ready-to-eat foods without washing hands. Another nine points was lost due to the prep coolers being kept above 41 degrees.

Additional four-point penalties included a rogue Chick-fil-A cup in an unwarranted area, lack f supplies and procedures to handle human bodily fluids, and pink organic residue on the ice makers. There were even more points deducted as a result of staff wearing inappropriate jewelry and storage issues.
In the end, it seems Kandi and Todd wasted no time in getting to the bottom of these problems. Their establishment has already been reopened and serving happy customers since May 21st!
