The fate of the Real Housewives of Orange County has finally been revealed, following the total flop of a recent years. The controversial Kelly Dodd was on another level last year, causing some fans to boycott the season. But she wasn’t the only cause for disarray — looking at you, Braunwyn Windham-Burke. Now, they’re both gone along with Elizabeth Lyn Vargas.
While Kelly herself half expected to get cut after last year. Most recently, the always outspoken Kelly teased a potential return, but the Bravo gods did not rule in her favor.
And according to Entertainment Tonight, Kelly is currently dealing with some health issues alongside new hubby Rick Leventhal. Kelly posted on her Instagram Story on Monday announcing the news. “Se, we tested positive for Lyme disease,” she said while filming Rick sitting across the table from her.
Kelly went on to share her shock at the diagnosis of Lyme, which is a disease spread by ticks. “I’ve never had contact with a tick in my life,” she said. (I’m holding back any jokes referencing blood-sucking housewives because health scares are no laughing matter.)

Rick, however, said he had Lyme three times in his life. In the video clip, Rick took an antibiotic that he’s previously taken that has cured his Lyme disease. Neither Kelly nor Rick gave explicit details about the severity of their symptoms or how exactly they got the virus.
If you remember, Lyme disease was the serious illness that took Yolanda Hadid down for the count on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She suffered severe symptoms for an extended period of time. If you remember, it was the season of RHOBH where no viewer ever wanted to hear the word “Munchausen” ever again.
Real Housewives of New York OG Ramona Singer also had Lyme but recovered last year. It’s evident that the disease has varying effects on different people. So let’s all hope Rick and Kelly have a speedy recovery very soon.
