For those viewers enjoying the cast mix on the Real Housewives of New York, know that producers are looking to shake things up more next season. With a core group that was untouched for almost seven seasons, change was arguably needed. Dorinda Medley, Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan, and Luann de Lesseps were together since Season 7. And the rotation of supporting cast members that included Bethenny Frankel, Tinsley Mortimer, and Carole Radziwell, provided shifting drama and story lines.
This formula worked until Tinsley left RHONY to follow Scott Kluth to Chicago. Dorinda was left wanting for a target for her misguided anger and starting lashing out at the rest of the cast. Unable to take responsibility or resolve any issues during the reunion, Dorinda was axed from the show. Her departure provided an opportunity to reshape the dynamic of RHONY. Producers added Eboni K. Williams to the Season 13 cast and her presence is a welcome change to a very homogeneous group. Eboni brought diversity of heritage, thought, opinion, perspective and culture. Now, Bravo producers are looking to include another woman of color to RHONY with the potential hiring of a Latina radio host.
According to an article by The Sun, Bravo is “in talks to hire radio host Carolina Bermudez.” An insider revealed that, “the Real Housewives looks to be shaking things for next season” and that, “the production company has started putting feelers out to multiple eligible women in NY.”
It’s interesting that Season 13 is nowhere near finishing and Bravo is already recruiting for Season 14. Maybe the positive response to Eboni is fueling the decision. Eboni is certainly making waves in the best way possible. She is challenging the other ladies to look beyond their narrow horizons. Important conversations are happening, but also a lot of good drama. The insider explained that, “they are starting the casting process earlier than ever, so it’s clear they want to shake things up.”

According to the source, “Latina NY Radio host (WKTU Morning Show) Carolina Bermudez is also on the wish list right now.” Carolina, 43, has two sons with husband Mark Grossman. She is a successful radio host that has worked with many A-list contacts during her time as DJ and presenter on the Elvis Duran and the Morning Show. Despite her reach within the entertainment industry, Carolina has not met the other RHONY stars. If Bravo producers, “want fresh blood,” it seems that Carolina might be a good fit, though she has “no comment at this time.”
It’s a small cast this season, with just five members. Maybe there is room for more than one addition. Fans are hoping Tinsley returns to the show, but are also raving about Eboni’s addition. One fan tweeted, “I already like Eboni because mama is real af. She done got on TV and told us her tea she ain’t give a b**h a chance to spray her with her own tea and for that we STAN.” Another wrote, “Eboni is already the best housewife of the season. I like the friendship between her & Leah so far.”

RHONY clearly needed some diversity, and next season will hopefully include another housewife of differing heritage. Whether that will be Carolina or not remains to be seen.
