There is arguably no better Real Housewives feud than the ongoing banter between Gizelle Bryant and Karen Huger. Since the beginning of the Real Housewives of Potomac, they’ve STAYED arguing and throwing shade. And their fights are some of the show’s most iconic moments. Gizelle taking the center seat at La Dame’s birthday party. Gizelle’s #FreeUncleBen shirt at Karen’s press conference about Ray Huger’s tax issues. And, of course, the infamous mime luncheon, one of the greatest TV scenes of all time.
Karen and Gizelle battling for the queen bee spot is the heart of RHOP. And while Gizzy has always had Robyn Dixon by her side, the Grande Dame has a bandit of her own with newbie Mia Thornton. And the ladies came in hot during the Season 6 premiere, wasting no time arguing about each other’s coochies, of course. Bravo, please never get rid of either of these women. I worship them.
Karen appeared on Watch What Happens Live this week to celebrate the return of Potomac. And, of course, throw shade at Gizzy. A fan asked the Grande Dame her opinion on Gizelle’s recent split with Jamal Bryant who lives in the phone, which is one of Karen’s favorite topics of conversation.
During the RHOP premiere, Gizelle blamed their breakup on the COVID-19 pandemic. Not all of the rumors of infidelity or the long-distance factor of their relationship. Yeah, OK. “It was a weak excuse,” Karen began. “First of all, she was never with Jamal. Honestly, we saw that on the couch in New Jersey. It all fell apart.” Karen’s referencing Monique Samuels exposing Pastor Holy Whore at last year’s reunion. And it’s definitely not the first time the Grande Dame has called Gizelle’s relationship phony.
Karen added that Gizelle and Jamal were together in the pandemic, so it made no sense as an excuse. “It made no sense to any of my friends on the show,” Karen added. Oooof the shade. AKA she’s talking about Mia and Monique, because it’s clear Karen has some relationships to fix this season.

La Dame then went in on Gizelle, calling her a “big liar.” “She lies all the time. But unfortunately, it has come to a head and I hope she’s learned from this because I don’t dislike Gizelle. I want the best for her. But she’s got to own her mess,” Karen said. Weirdly, I believe her. Gizelle and Karen have HISTORY and I don’t think either of them wants to watch the other fail. They just have veryyy different ways of communicating aside from throwing digs back and forth.
I think that Karen and Gizelle will be able to get to a better place this season, as the reunion was obviously a low point for both of them. And we know Gizzy will be busy feuding with Wendy Osefo about rumors swirling the streets of Potomac. La Dame and Gizelle will be frenemies for life and, thankfully, that will always make for entertaining TV.
