Now that the Real Housewives of Potomac has made its triumphant return to my TV screen, all of my excited energy is going toward the upcoming second season of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. The SLC ladies had an explosive first season with so many iconic moments already, many involving the unique character that is Mary Cosby. Otherwise known as the woman who lives in her closet, is married to her step-grandfather and fell asleep during the Season 1 reunion. Mary’s made more than a few questionable statements in the past, from telling Jen Shah she smells like hospital to tone-deaf statements about poor people. But one thing’s for sure — she’s someone you cannot look away from when she comes on screen.
It’s obvious that Mary and Jen will probably never have a real relationship, especially considering Jen’s fraud allegations that will undoubtedly be a major part of Season 2. But they really seems to be more alike than they are different. They both are the only minorities on the show. They both make pretty stupid statements from time to time. And they’re both so over-the-top in their own unique ways. So it’s a bit of a shame they can’t kiss and make up.
Another similarity also seems to be that they both have hard feelings toward Heather Gay. Heather was a fan-favorite during the first season. She was a ride-or-die friend to Jen, even though Jen’s thrown every cruel insult in the book at her. Heather is STILL defending Jen after getting #unarrested, making me wonder what Jen has on this girl that makes her ride for her so hard. As for Mary, Heather revealed recently in a conversation with RHOP’s Wendy Osefo on Bravo Insider that Mary blocked her co-star on Instagram, as reposted by @housewivesofslc on Instagram.
While Heather may have opened the door to a fight with Mary, Mother Mary kicked it wide open. In a since-deleted Instagram post captured by Boredom by Bravo, Mary explained her reasoning for blocking Heather. “If you want to know why I blocked Heather Gay is because Heather Gay is a racist! She admitted and owned it and she knows it! LETS SPEAK TRUTH,” the post read.

Mary used the most horrifying font over an illustration of a brick wall to make the statement, further proving she realllly doesn’t know how to use Instagram. If anyone needs a Shah Squad, it’s Mary so she can up her social media game.
So now Mary and Jen both have accused Heather of being racist to the public. Based on what we’ve seen on the show, Heather hasn’t shown anything that makes her seem outright racist. But it does beg the question of what’s going on behind the scenes. Let’s not forget that both Jen and Mary have made interesting statements about race in the past. All I know is Season 2 of RHOSLC cannot come fast enough.
