Every Real Housewives of New York fan can clearly see that this season is a total bust. And while everyone is trying to point the finger at one person or thing to blame it on, I don’t think it’s that simple. The ladies are dealing with the coronavirus pandemic which hit NYC especially hard. And they filmed the majority of the season amidst one of the most contentious presidential elections of all time that had everyone on edge. Not to mention a national reckoning regarding racism. Also, at least half of the ladies are going through serious personal issues behind the scenes that are taking their toll on them.
Behind the RHONY seems, it sounds like Bravo is worried about the fan response to this season. The addition of Eboni K. Williams has been heavily debated, with some praising her for making the women confront their white privilege and others (AKA Ramona Singer) thinking she’s too “preachy.” And while Leah McSweeney was a fan-favorite last year, the fans have turned on her so bad that even Mona is asking them to give her a break. Sounds like Leah is a victim of the sophomore season scaries.
Shocking news broke this week that Ramona, the OG of NYC, might be getting the boot next season. There are rumors that she pulled out of the reunion and that filming for it has been delayed altogether. It’s hard to imagine RHONY without Ramona — she’s always been at the center. Not to mention she just was picked for the first round of the Real Housewives All-Stars spinoff. The outrage was expected — Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan and Mona are the true tres amigas in the Real Housewives world. And have brought so much to the show over the years.
And not only were fans upset but so were fellow housewives. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna joined the campaign for Ramona to keep her apple where it belongs — in her hand, Radar Online reports. Rinna shared one of Ramona’s Instagram posts on her own story, calling the New Yorker a “national treasure” who “should be protected at all costs.” I can’t remember the last time I agreed with Rinna’s judgment, but I can’t deny that she’s right.
Ramona was feeling the love and reshared Lisa’s post, thanking her for being on her side. And despite the rumors of the Ramonacoaster ending its wild ride, Daily Mail reports that Mona isn’t going anywhere. Unless it’s to a stomach doctor considering she recently ate dog food and pooped on the floor (again).

A RHONY insider (Coco? Avery Singer?) told Daily Mail that a “cast shakeup” is coming, but Ramona isn’t on the chopping block. “Ramona Singer ain’t going anywhere,” the source said. “This story is complete rubbish.”
The source continued by saying it’s too early in the year to make casting decisions, as those usually come after the reunion has aired. “The production company Shed and the network Bravo really take into account what fans say online and how they respond to the cast,” the insider said. If that’s the case, Bravo WHAT ARE WE DOING without Dorinda Medley. We need the Bezerkshires back to save this sinking ship.
According to the insider, one of Mona’s castmates “has it out for Ramona and she wants her off the show.” Well, considering there are only five of them, it’s probably Leah or Eboni. “This Housewife is leaking to news organizations that Ramona is fired in an attempt to push the network to get rid of her,” they said. Now that sounds like BS. Ramona’s only received more support since the rumor began swirling. If anything, it sounds like Corona Singer would release the news herself to rally up the fans.

The Daily Mail source told fans to anticipate “anti-Ramona” stories “leaked everywhere” in the coming weeks, blaming it on one of the RHONY ladies. “Ramona also isn’t the cast member that should be worried,” they said. “There is one cast member who producers have found particularly problematic as what viewers are seeing on television isn’t real.” Lord, please don’t let it be Sonja. I don’t care about anyone else, but Sonja with a Sexy J needs to STAY.
