Summer House Hannah Berner

Hannah Berner Says Summer House Stars Weren’t Happy For Her When She Started Hosting Bravo’s Chat Room

We’re in the dog days of summer, which means the cast of Summer House is back to spending their weekends at the Hamptons, chugging rosé and LoverBoy until the sun comes up. The last season of Summer House was a doozy. The Good Vibes Tribe was stuck together 24/7 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and they were feeling the effects of not having any breaks from one another. On top of that, they had to skip out on their massive ragers and one-night stands, so there was little reprieve.

The most polarizing figure on Summer House last season was undoubtedly Hannah Berner. Her strange relationship with Luke Gulbranson had almost everyone in the cast, aside from Hannah’s partner-in-crime Paige DeSorbo, at odds with her. After a very triggering reunion, Hannah decided to skip out on the Hamptons this year, opting for pursuing her stand-up comedy career or whatever. I bet Kyle Cooke is happy that summer WILL BE FUN again because, in his book, Hannah = not fun.

Despite leaving the show, Hannah is still using the platform it gave her to stay on the top of fans’ minds as much as possible. Even though she claims she’s “outgrown” Summer House *eye roll*. And in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, she took another opportunity to declare herself the “star” of the show. Let’s be clear — Carl Radke is the star, that’s not up for debate.

Her justification for calling herself the “star” is because Bravo selected her to be a host of Bravo’s Chat Room series. And she claims the Summer House cast members weren’t happy she got the gig. “I never really got a congratulations or any of that, so I don’t think that it helped my friendships with them, which is very unfortunate because I feel like the more everyone else is doing positive things, the better it is overall for the show,” Hannah said. (Why is this giving me Vicki Gunvalson begging for a casserole vibes?)

Hannah added that they should be more of a team instead of, “‘Oh that person’s a black sheep now, let’s push them out.” Did Hannah watch herself for 5-minutes on the show last year? It’s clear she brought A LOT of the hate on herself.

Additionally, Hannah’s former co-stars accused her of being performative, which she disagrees with. “If I could perform a different way, I would have. I would have kept my cool if I could perform,” she said. Isn’t she spending the entire summer literally PERFORMING for people ON STAGE at her comedy shows? Clearly, she has SOME experience.

Hannah also pissed off a lot of her old friends by trash-talking them on her podcast, in the press and to anyone that would listen. “I have my Google alerts. I’ve seen them all, so why don’t we all just embrace that we’re on a reality show with a lot of drama and friends that have ups and down, and let’s have fun?” she responded. Calling Lindsay Hubbard to share her feelings on Hannah’s hot takes.
