Karen Huger Hints At Reconciliation With Candiace Dillard; Gives Update On Friendship With Monique Samuels

I’m SO GLAD Juan Dixon is here right now! The Real Housewives of Potomac women are back, baby! And we have earned it. For anyone struggling through the Real Housewives of New York’s historical figure parties and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills peeping tom and leather pants gimmicks, rest easy. We’ve made it to the other side of the rainbow.

Of course, RHOP is missing wig-shifter Monique Samuels and sky bomber T’Challa in season 6. Are we staring down yet another numbed out franchise? Prayers for some season 5 grudge hangovers.

When we left the Potomac women last season, Karen Huger and Candiace Dillard Bassett had little friendship to speak of. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight Karen gave insight into whether or not she and Candiace make their way back to an understanding. Karen shared, “You have to stay tuned for Candiace’s and my growth and how we work through that, because there’s love between Candiace and I.” News to me!

When we left Karen and Candiace, word on the street was Karen went behind the scenes to get Candiace in trouble with the Bravo network for her behavior. Karen maintains that she was simply trying to help her friend, Monique, following her physical altercation with Candiace. Meanwhile, Candiace has been out here defending the crooked Erika Jayne. To each their own!

She also hinted that viewers with see the former duo in a stronger place than when we left them in the season 5 reunion. “[We had] very difficult conversations that needed to be had, and that was the point where growth starts,” Karen explained.

Karen also argued that, “Decisions were made that need to be understood and respected and moved on. My relationship with Monique, I’m not a fair-weather friend. I am a constant person. I’m able to have a friendship with her, but put that in perspective and separate it from the RHOP, and I respect my friend enough to do that.” In other words, Karen is ride or die.

Karen and Ashley Darby were the only two still speaking to Monique at the close of last season. It will be interesting to see how that impacts our new cast dynamics as we hit our summer stride.
