Despite my initial skepticism, this season of Below Deck Mediterranean is EVERYTHING. And yes, even with the worst duo ever Malia White and Sandy Yawn at its center. We’re only a few episodes in and chef Mathew Shea has quit TWICE. Malia has found herself in another budding boatmance. And Mzi “Zee” Dempers and Courtney Veale have had ups (his birthday) and downs (his faceplant) together that is like a trainwreck you can’t stop watching.
Malia definitely did NOT come into this season of Below Deck Med as a fan favorite. After getting her roomie Hannah Ferrier fired last year, she left a bad taste in everyone’s mouths. And her constant kissing up to Sandy, for some insane reason, is painful to watch. But somehow, Malia has found a way to not be the most hated crew member of Season 6 — let me introduce you to Lexi Wilson.
Lexi, otherwise known as Satan, is the clear villain this year. I watched her total meltdown fight with all of her crewmates at least 5 times now. And in the most recent episode, after the dust settled, she gave a half-hearted apology and furthered the tension on the boat. After calling her mom and threatening to quit, it begs the question of if she’ll be booted off the boat like Chef Mathew after the current charter ends.
In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Malia made it clear she was not satisfied with Lexi’s apology. “She was kind of like, ‘Yeah, whatever. I don’t remember I’m sorry. Like, everyone get over it,” Malia said.

Malia continued, “We were like, ‘How do you not remember? You were saying some pretty intense stuff, you know?’ So I don’t think it was as sincere as we wanted it to be. But I think for her, that’s the best we were going to get.” I can’t believe I’m really AGREEING with Malia but she’s right — the pageant queen’s talent clearly isn’t offering sincere apologies.
Since the episode aired, Malia claims that Lexi has yet to reach out. And teased that the drama with Lexi is far from over. “But I think what’s happened has happened with Lexi and she’s just kind of done with it and that’s fair,” Malia added. Lexi and Mat should walk the plank hand-in-hand. And let Katie Flood do the honors of sending them overboard.
