Heather Dubrow Says Filming Real Housewives Of Orange County Is “Surprising, Shocking, Mildly Disappointing, And Hopeful”

Real Housewives of Orange County needed a shake-up. A shake-up from the original cast shake-up two seasons ago that is. Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge were fired after Season 14. The show definitely needed a change and Vicki deserved to take a seat – but Tamra didn’t. At least, THAT’S MY OPINION (and Andy Cohen’s). Minus two of the now-defunct Tres Amigas, Season 15 played out like a terrible car crash you didn’t care to look at. Sans Tamra, the resident pot-stirrer, the show was lost and the women resorted to seriously bizarre stunts.

Braunwyn Windham-Burke annoyed fans with various inconsistencies about her marriage and behavior, while Kelly Dodd brought the group’s IQ down to single digits. Basically, RHOC had one of the worst seasons ever, and I say this as an OC loyalist. I stan every season until the promotion of Kelly and the firing of Heather Dubrow. Thankfully, Bravo has rectified that terrible decision, but they have yet to bring Tammy Sue back. Until then, I will remain skeptical about Season 16. Heather however is beginning to ease my mind.

Heather recently shared her thoughts about Season 16 in an Instagram story, and a fan account re-shared part of the video. Heather begins by saying filming has, “already been surprising, shocking, funny, mildly disappointing – that might be an understatement – and hopeful.” These adjectives are a bit vague and can either describe a great season or a garbage season. We’ll have to wait and see.

What could Heather be “hopeful” about? Maybe a friendship with Shannon Beador? From the beginning these two disliked each other. I maintain it was because Shannon gave Heather a run for her money in terms of wealth and privilege. Now that Shannon’s divorced and “downsized,” Heather is the clear winner in that department. So, maybe she’s hopeful because they finally mended their relationship? Who knows.

Saying the season is “mildly disappointing” and that “might be an understatement” has to refer to fighting between the women – and maybe over disagreements about issues related to the social climate of today, mainly Covid? The women of the OC aren’t the most open-minded bunch, which is something Heather has always prided herself on being. Bottom line, we won’t know what Heather means until we watch.

“Those are the words that I’m going to use, so there you go,” Heather continued. “I think that people are going to be like surprised and not surprised, how about that?” she concluded. Given this, it sounds like RHOC is dealing with the same issues, but with a different cast. That could make all the difference here.

Heather also shared that they are “three-weeks in, four-weeks in, I don’t even know,” of filming. That’s only a month, which means there’s still time to make this season great. Here’s hoping Heather includes the self-proclaimed hottest housewife in Orange County in all this.
