The Bachelorette Alum Katie Thurston Responds To Backlash Over Eating An Edible

Katie Thurston just wrapped up her season of The Bachelorette after a tumultuous season. She had drama, a dramatic breakup with Greg Grippo, and ended up getting a ring on her finger from Blake Moynes. But not after a season filled with breakups, tears, and a whole lot of raw honesty from Katie about her life and tumultuous backstory.

Now, Katie is watching her former boyfriends galavant in Mexico and try to find true love of their own on Bachelor In Paradise. And most importantly, she’s taking a well-deserved break from the spotlight to enjoy nesting with her man. As every successful Bachelorette deserves after putting themselves through this mess of a show.

But, as always, haters are gonna hate. And this time, they’re hating for the way Katie decides to unwind after a long season, People reports. Katie recently took to Twitter to update her fans and followers about what she’s doing — a whole lot of nothing. “I just took an edible, laying on the floor of my living room surrounded by responsibilities, all while listening to medication music on Spotify. And how are you?” she tweeted. Sounds like a nice night to me. But, of course, the haters had to roll in and give their unsolicited two cents.

Some followers called out Katie for mentioning she was taking an edible which is TOTALLY LEGAL where she lives. One user wrote, “Not a very good role model to the younger viewers of @bachnation.” And Katie clapped back, “Because I’m consuming a legal drug at a legal age within a legal state?” Exactly. Hop off, haters. Katie didn’t even have to give these people the time of day to respond but schooled them nonetheless.

Another fan did point out that Katie wrote “medication” instead of “meditation” music. And the former Bachelorette had to laugh. “Hahahahah yes but in some ways I guess it’s medication for the [mind]. Or maybe this edible already hit,” she responded. If I were ever in the position of dating 30 men at one time on national TV, I’d probably be doing the same thing afterward and turning my phone on airplane mode. Keep doing you, Katie.
