NeNe Leakes will also be the OG of OGs in the Real Housewives universe, even if she had quite the unconventional exit from the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Fans have seen the ins and outs of her family life, her career, and more. And one of the biggest aspects of her personal life is her unbreakable bond with her husband Gregg Leakes.
NeNe and Gregg did not have it easy. They started off RHOA being married. We watched them go through a divorce and eventually get remarried. They’re clearly each other’s person and biggest cheerleader. And recently, NeNe shared some horrible news about Gregg’s health that is truly tragic to hear, Entertainment Online reports.
In a video posted by @LoveAndyC on Twitter, NeNe tells a crowd at her Atlanta lounge Linnethia that Gregg is dying. “My husband is transitioning to the other side,” she told the crowd. NeNe allegedly made the speech after customers called her “rude” for not saying “happy birthday” to a group of customers celebrating. “You don’t know what we’re dealing with right now,” NeNe continued. “We walked in this lounge because we had to walk in this lounge because this is our business.”

Then, NeNe asked the patrons to get her respect and love during the difficult time. “So, when people approach and say, ‘You’re rude because you don’t want to say happy birthday,’ my husband is dying at home,” she said. “I don’t want to say ‘Happy birthday,’ OK?” Totally heartbreaking. Our thoughts are with NeNe, Gregg, and their family during this difficult time.
In recent months, NeNe revealed that Gregg’s colon cancer made a return. Gregg went through a battle with the disease before entering remission in recent years. Gregg spent a six-week stint in the hospital, and RHOA fans took to social media in droves to wish him good health.
After the video made rounds on social media, NeNe took to Instagram to share a simple message. The post read “Broken” and featured a broken heart and prayer hands emoji. Several RHOA cast members past and present flooded the comments to wish her family the best while they deal with the emotional turn that Gregg’s health has taken.
