Season 14 of Real Housewives of Orange County had us all yawning except for some of the outrageous behavior of Braunwyn Windham-Burke – who was fired for season 15. Exiting the show didn’t stop Braunwyn from airing all her laundry whether it be dirty or clean.
Braunwyn recently told Us Weekly that she is “Living the single life.” Well…not exactly single if you count her husband of 26 years, Sean Burke, who has proven he is a solid stand-by-your-woman kind of guy. But by single she means, she broke up with former RHOC alum Fernanda Rocha whom she dated for four months.
RHOC introduced us to Braunwyn and showed us she was a devoted mother to seven children. Then we watched during one season of RHOC as Braunwyn came out as an alcoholic, lesbian and a women navigating an open marriage. But apparently she proved to be a little TOO much for the audience and was told to exit stage left.
At first Braunwyn said, “Fernanda and I, we’re in a transitional period.” Interestingly, while they dated for four months she said she was gone for three of them. She also let out her and Fernanda were going to a party together when she returned to the OC and they “were open to other things in our life.”
When pressed, Braunwyn admitted they broke up by saying, “I’m single. OK yes!” MMMmmm… it kind of sounds more like a hookup, or a few hookups, some texting, and facetime. Not actually a relationship. But as we have seen from Braunwyn’s season on RHOC, relationships come in all forms.

Being open to other things, seems to be a theme for Braunwyn who came out as a lesbian in December 2020. Not many people get to have a devoted husband co-parent with them successfully and date publicly. “It’s great. I mean, we really are nailing the co-parenting thing. We are best friends…. He understands that, like, this has been a dream of mine forever, so he’s supportive!” Girl yeah! Where do the rest of us find a Sean?
Although in July the couple said they were taking a break and living apart for several months, the distance and girlfriend Fernanda did not break them.
The married couple is not talking divorce. Instead Braunwyn claims, “We get along great, we have an open marriage — it’s working for us. We’re happy.” Braunwyn whose Instagram account states she is “Living life on life’s terms, one day at a time,” seems to truly be living her best life. She has been jumping between New York, OC and Hawaii. Braunwyn fan or not, one can’t help but be a little jealous. I mean she has a rocking body, has seven kids that seem very well adjusted, has time to jet set, and time for a husband and a dating life. Does the girl sleep?
