Real Housewives of New York alum Bethenny Frankel always has a full plate. In March of 2021, Bethenny confirmed her engagement to Paul Bernon. She raised $1.5 million dollars in relief through her Bstrong: Disaster Relief foundation for victims of hurricane Ida.
Season 13 of RHONY was a disaster for the franchise. While some viewers desperately wanted Bethenny to return to the show, she made it clear that she wasn’t feeling it. She tweeted, “I posted on Insta that my being in talks w @BravoTV is [100] false. The leak is desperate for attention,” Bethenny wrote. “I haven’t spoken to bravo since leaving & @Andy [Cohen] & I don’t discuss rhony.”
But apparently Bethenny will discuss Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne’s legal dumpster fire. In case you haven’t heard, Erika’s estranged husband, Tom Girardi, allegedly embezzled $26 million in funds that belonged to his clients. Tom is accused of transferring $20 million dollars from his law firm, Girardi Keese, to EJ Global, which is Erika’s company.
In a report from the trustee in charge of Tom’s Chapter 7 bankruptcy, he owes $101 million to creditors and has $4.1 million in property. Erika filed for divorce, but it was alleged to be a smoke screen to hide assets.
Now Erika, who formerly spent $40,000 a month on her glam squad, is being sued to recover $25 million that was reportedly used for her expenses. And now Tom’s clients can collect payment from Erika for the funds that they are owed.
On RHOBH, Erika is either crying off her mascara, or threatening co-star Sutton Stracke. Sutton knows Erika’s stories don’t add up, and she is calling her out. And that makes Erika angry…and very scary.
Tom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. He was disbarred by the California Federal Court and is now residing in a senior living facility.
According to Page Six, Bethenny spilled some tea about Tom on her Just B With Bethenny Frankel podcast. She claimed that Tom allegedly owed Dennis Shields, her ex-boyfriend, $500,000. Sadly, Dennis passed away in August of 2018.
Bethenny attended a law conference a few years ago. She said that she talked to Tom about how Erika was showing off their extravagant lifestyle on RHOBH. Erika bragged about owning two private planes and her budget for her glam squad.

Bethenny commented, “My experience is, especially with the ‘Housewives’ … if someone’s flaunting their money, they don’t really have it.” The former RHONY star stated that Dennis supposedly told her, “He owes me half a million dollars. I know this other guy he owes a million and a half dollars. He doesn’t have money. He owes everybody money.” Say what? That is crazy that Tom owed Dennis money.
When Bethenny questioned how Erika could fly on private planes, Dennis reportedly said, “It’s because he’s using people’s money to support her lifestyle. He’s using the company’s money to support her lifestyle.”
Bethenny stated that Dennis told her that Tom couldn’t “say no” to Erika. In May of 2018, Bethenny claimed that she found out that Tom’s financial problems were the “worst-kept secret” in legal circles in Los Angeles. “It was a thing,” Bethenny commented. “That’s just what happens – things take a long time to come out.”

The Skinnygirl mogul claimed that she told Andy Cohen about Tom’s financial woes. “Holy s–t. You really do know it all. You told me about this years ago,” Andy supposedly told Bethenny when the news hit the press. Bethenny remarked, “I knew about this since 2017 … and this all came out in 2020.”
