Housewives are just like us. They can’t help but weigh in on the Erika Jayne and Tom Girardi situation. With every day that goes by, someone who has nothing to do with Erika or Tom takes the time to chime in on the mess. Just in the last few weeks, Camille Grammer claimed that a “good friend” gossipped about Erika’s finances at Andy Cohen’s baby shower. Bethenny Frankel got into the mix claiming to have known about Tom’s alleged schemes since 2017. Everyone is eager to share their perspective. And now, the latest Housewife to weigh in is an OG from The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Dina Manzo.
Dina recently took to her Instagram stories to give her opinion on what’s going on in Beverly Hills. First, she shared the infamous Page Six video of Tom looking dazed and interacting with the paparazzi. You know the video. Dina shared the clip with a caption saying, “Not excusing what he has done at all but this man clearly has dementia. Unfortunately I know that blank distant look in his eyes. In the beginning stages you can still seem “normal” (as in how you always were) at times.”
There is undoubtedly a blank look in his eyes in that video, and we can all agree that the footage was shocking for various reasons. But with multimillion-dollar lawsuits and victims who deserve to be “taken care of,” as Erika would say, the Girardis need to figure out some way to pay restitution. Dina has a solution.
She continued in her Instagram stories, “And yes I think THEY should sell every last thing to pay those poor people back.” The RHONJ alum wanted to clarify her stance because the original post sounded so sympathetic. “I just didn’t want the last post to suggest that I think they should let them off the hook. I was just triggered by that look in his eyes,” she concluded, adding a crying emoji.
What Dina said definitely makes sense, and it’s what makes this story so challenging. Many people think Tom is trying to evade accountability. But then you see videos of him looking emaciated, and you hear about his $8,000 per month senior living facility, and then it starts to seem like maybe he really is struggling. Erika hasn’t done the best job of explaining Tom’s problems on RHOBH, so everyone is left feeling confused.
None of their stories add up, but as Dina said, they should sell everything they can to make things right for the victims. We know they’ve been working on selling some of their things. Their Pasadena mansion went on the market earlier this year for $13 million. And, of course, there was that auction where they were selling knick-knacks from Tom’s law firm. But with a debt of over $100 million, they’re going to have to do a lot of selling.
