Leah McSweeney Real Housewives Of New York

Leah McSweeney Says She “Hasn’t Talked To Or Seen” Eboni K. Williams

Season 13 of Real Housewives of New York wasn’t one of the franchise’s best seasons. There were rumors of a major cast shake-up, as well as whispers that RHONY had earned a permanent hiatus. In September of 2021, the reunion was officially cancelled after being delayed.

Leah McSweeney and Eboni K. Williams received much of the blame for the season tanking. Eboni is the first Black Housewife on the franchise. Eboni and Leah were besties from the start, but Eboni had issues with her other cast members.

“OG” Ramona Singer, who may or may not be on the chopping block, referred to the people who worked for her as “the help.” Eboni called her out on it. Luann de Lesseps and Eboni had an argument about raunchy language sounding “uneducated.” When Eboni responded, Luann referred to her as an “angry” woman and told her to leave her house.

Leah’s beloved grandmother passed away. Eboni’s grandmother also died, and the losses brought the duo even closer. During the cast trip to Salem, Massachusetts, Leah and Eboni both got tattoos of their grandmothers’ names. What a special moment to share together.

Leah spoke to Entertainment Tonight at the book release party for Not All Diamonds and Rosé: The Inside Story of The Real Housewives From the People That Lived It. After the party, rumors swirled about tension between Eboni and the rest of the RHONY cast. When Leah was asked about the state of her friendship with Eboni, she replied, “I honestly haven’t talked to her, haven’t seen her, haven’t heard too much from her.” Leah added, “I think she was traveling? But everything’s OK.”

What’s that now? I thought that Eboni and Leah were actual real-life friends. According to Entertainment Tonight, Eboni expressed the same sentiment later that evening and said she was looking forward to seeing her RHONY co-stars.

So, would Leah return to the show in the future? “Of course, I think I would definitely [come back], absolutely, because I really wouldn’t want the last season to be the way I went out, just because it was a weird season with COVID and everything,” Leah explained.

The Married to the Mob designer continued, “I think RHONY’s definitely coming back. Who’s gonna be a part of it, I have no idea. And when it’s coming back? I don’t know,” she added. Leah also commented that she is “cool with everybody” on the show and has “moved on” from any Season 13 drama.

Leah has been working on her first book, which is a memoir and self-help guide titled Chaos Theory: How to Embrace the Unexpected and Find Meaning in the Madness. Maybe Leah should gift a copy to her RHONY co-stars—it sounds like a fitting description for last season.
