Now that the cast for season 14 of Real Housewives of Atlanta has come out, there is no room for speculation on who will and won’t be returning. Out are longtime housewives Cynthia Bailey and Porsha Williams. Of course, we can still catch Cynthia on Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip and Porsha on her own spin off show. Which is a shame, because I was looking forward to Porsha getting dragged by her castmates for her ummm, recent choices. Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore and Drew Sidora are all back. Marlo Hampton has answered our prayers and will finally become a full time cast member. The Atlanta gods were also smiling down on us with the return of Sheree Whitfield. Please, please let there be joggers. Finally, newbie and Olympic Gold medalist Sanya Richards-Ross will be the latest addition to the series.
Unfortunately for some viewers, the end of cast speculation confirms that former RHOA star Phaedra Parks will not be back. Before a new season starts, it seems like her name is always volleyed around in the blogs. Some fans love the idea, and some just can’t get past what she did to Kandi, which resulted in her firing. And I completely agree with. Either way, Phaedra is confirming that she won’t ever come back anyway.
As reported by The Jasmine Brand, Phaedra explained why she won’t rejoin the cast. She said, “I’ve evolved and so I love that the fans want me back, but my children are at an age — The Housewives is an awesome platform but it comes with its issues and so to be a great parent and to be a responsible parent, I think that that would not be a responsible decision.”

As for her being asked to return, she claimed, “People ask me. Every year I’m approached at some part of the year but it’s just not something I want to do. I did it for what, 8 years of my life? Both of my kids were born on live TV. It’s a lot.” Phaedra added, “So for all of those eight years, for all of the things that I shared with the world, I think, I will go down in history as being one of the best for that franchise.”
Hmmmm. I actually don’t disagree with that but maybe for not the reasons she’s thinking. While she was sneaky and shady, her reads, one liners and comical antics made her a fan favorite. And you couldn’t help but feel for her when she and ex-husband Apollo Nida were getting divorced. But Phaedra’s fall was quick and swift after planting the false rumor in Porsha’s pea brain that Kandi and her husband tried to drug and rape her. Definitely one of the dirtiest moments in Housewives history.
As for what Phaedra thinks about Marlo and Sheree being on the upcoming season, Phaedra replied, “I don’t follow the show. I love Sheree. I don’t think anything about it. I don’t follow it.”
