Season 6 of Real Housewives of Potomac was pure fire. Every cast member was involved in the drama. Ashley Darby gave birth to her second son with her handsy husband, Michael Darby. Then she struggled to get her sex life back on track.
But Ashley is a professional, so she popped over to Williamsburg weeks after giving birth to stir the pot. Ashley and the green-eyed bandits, Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon, had issues with RHOP co-star Wendy Osefo’s transformation.
Ashley brought up the rumor that Wendy’s husband, Eddie Osefo, had a mistress and a baby on the side. After Wendy exploded, Ashley dipped out of the storm that she created and headed back home. Ashley is RHOP’s star bone carrier.
Candiace Dillard, who was furious about what Ashley did, body-shamed her by stating that Ashley brought her “wide-bodied ass” all the way to Williamsburg just to create a mess. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Candiace offered a half-assed apology.
“Because she said that it was offensive, I wanted to make it clear that I was not referring to her postpartum body,” Candiace remarked. “I talked about her forehead, her face, the whole thing.” Oof. Body-chaming is never okay. Poor Ashley was banned from participating in Candiace’s video for her song, “Drive Back.” I’m sure Ashley was downing her sorrows in a Corona.
Ashley and her RHOP co-stars received the surprise of a lifetime at the reunion when host Andy Cohen turned his chair over to rap superstar Nicki Minaj. According to Press Las Vegas, Ashley appeared on Fox 5 in Washington D.C. to discuss her experience with Nicki.

“I was probably still reeling from the surprise. I was getting over that,” the RHOP star revealed. Nicki dissed Ashley, saying that she was “[Gizelle Bryant]’s sidekick” in going after Wendy, and added that she “didn’t have much of a storyline.”
Ashley said, “And then I didn’t know the nature of what her questions would be so when she came with that tone, I was like… I had to like, brace myself!” She added, “And I will say, she did say a few more nice things prior that were not included. Like, she called me juicy and all that. So, she buttered me really good before she stuck it to me.” Nicki really kicked the reunion up a notch.
Ashley did feel sorry for Candiace when she was in Nicki’s hot seat. “Candiace and I have had a very sordid past, which I’ll say. But there’s something about another person coming into our group and talking about us,” Ashley explained. “You just feel this like, ‘Well yeah, I can say what I want about you, but you can’t say that!’ There’s this sort of protection that came… I felt it.”
Ashley also said that Michael and Candiace’s husband, Chris Bassett, are on good terms right now. At the Season 6 RHOP finale, the two men agreed to let their grievances go. “Honestly I would not rule out a friendship between the two of them, “Ashley remarked.

Ashley admitted that Grand Dame Karen Huger was grilled the least by Nicki. “I think the person who got it maybe the least, maybe is Karen just because Nicki has made it very clear that she loves her some Ray Ray [Ray Huger],” Ashley said.
Ashley was impressed with Nicki’s performance at the reunion. Nicki was “able to ask questions that [Andy Cohen] can’t ask” and “did her job very well.” Ashley continued, “Andy is incredibly good at his job. There is only one Andy Cohen in this world. But she definitely added a different perspective and that was part of the reason she was there.”
Ashley is hoping that Rihanna, who is a fan of all things Bravo, will come by the reunion next time. “Rihanna is also a big fan of Potomac so if by chance, my girl Rhi Rhi decided she wanted to parlay in Potomac, she would be more than welcome,” Ashley said. “Read me, Rihanna!”
