Nurse Told Christine Quinn’s Husband That He Had to Choose To Save Her Or The Baby During Traumatic Childbirth

Season 4 of Selling Sunset is back and things have certainly changed around the Oppenheim Group. Most notably, super star/villain Christine Quinn is married and had a baby! Christine and her husband Christian Richard welcomed their first child in May. Unfortunately for Christine, the birth was anything but smooth.

As reported by People, Christine opened up on the show about her traumatic experience giving birth. Christine recalled, “He was coming out sideways, and his umbilical cord was wrapped around him. They said his heart rate’s going down. All I hear is, ‘Emergency C-section. Let’s go, let’s go!'”

She continued, “[Christian] was absolutely freaking out. And then when we were doing the emergency C-section, my heart rate was going down, the baby’s heart rate was going down. And then one of the nurses went up to Christian and said, ‘You need to make a priority right now. You have to choose one.’ He was like, ‘Both. You need… Both.'”

Christine understandably became emotional when recounting what happened next. She revealed, “I just remember before I went under the anesthesia, hearing the baby’s heart rate was going down, and they were afraid it was gonna stop. That’s the last thing I heard… until I woke up. So it was a nightmare, it was literally a nightmare … We’re thankful to say that all three of us were able to come home from the hospital, and we’re just counting our blessings each and every day.”

As for life as a new mom, Christine said back in May, “I never realized how hard it is. It is a full-time job, and I have so much respect now for moms — I always have, but oh my gosh, it’s a full-time job. It’s insanity. I mean, hats off to anyone who can do it for as long as they can, because it’s really, really difficult.”

She concluded, “I think the best part of motherhood is just being responsible for this little bundle of joy that’s half you and half your partner — and it’s been so nice to watch my husband change and evolve; he’s just so obsessed with little Baby C. I feel like I have my mama bear on now.”

I know it couldn’t have been easy for Christine to retell such a traumatic event. Especially on camera. Thank goodness both mom and baby are happy and healthy.
