Dorit Kemsley is really going through a tough time. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star made headlines in October when she was held at gunpoint while her house was robbed. Dorit and her children were home sleeping and husband, PK Kemsley was in London at the time. While Dorit was threatened and feared for her life, thankfully, no one was hurt. The LAPD released a statement on the incident soon after. It read, “The victim was in fear and complied with the suspects demands by directing them to valuables. The suspects took handbags, jewelry, and watches with a significant monetary loss and fled the location in a black truck.”
Dorit is now trying to heal from the trauma, with the support of her RHOBH castmates. Dorit recently attended the 2021 People’s Choice Awards, where she opened up about her current state. She told People, she is taking things “day by day.” Dorit also revealed, “I can tell you that this is something that’s truly affected me. There’s deep, deep trauma. I am taking day by day, but I’m doing therapy and doing all of the things I need to do to try to come up on the other side.”
She added, “I’m very hopeful that as long as I allow myself to feel, I have support of wonderful friends and family and an amazing husband. My kids are okay. And that’s the most important thing to me. So, mommy can do what she needs to do to be able to eventually just get stronger and better.”

Dorit is also trying very hard to protect her children through it all. She confirmed that they do not know about the home invasion. Said Dorit, “I’m trying to put one foot in front of the other. There are some days that are easier. Some that are harder, but I’m working through the trauma, you know, and trying to do the best I can. I’m grateful for the results. My kids and I are okay. My kids don’t know about it, and I’m just taking one day at a time.”
The crime has obviously taken its toll on Dorit and PK, who was recently arrested on suspicion of a DUI. While PK hasn’t said anything publicly, Dorit shared, “He’s very regretful. He fully understands the nature and the danger of drinking and driving.”
Dorit is now trying to move forward and is currently filming season 12 of RHOBH. I’m wishing Dorit all the best in her journey towards healing. And I’m sure we can all agree that we are happy both Dorit and her family are safe.
